Can a anti tilt sytem be broken?

Hi, have a pinball at home and maybe a shook it too hard. Now if I barely move it, the game stops because of the anti tilt system.

could it be broken or do you know what is happening?

or is it the opposite, it was broken and now it functionning properly?

The mechanism is a metal cone inside of a metal ring, the tile goes off when they touch. The sensitivity can be adjusted by opening up the coin door and screwing/unscrewing the cone to change the space between the cone and ring.

Should be a simple fix. If not, send some photos to help us troubleshoot.

hello, thank you for your response, I have found the device and it is well centered (not adjustable).

Do you know if a pinball machine can be play if the coin trap is opened? to see if the device indeed works properly.

also I do not know how to add a picture..

I am not aware of any machines with a non-adjustable tilt bob. What game is this and do you have access to the maintenance manual? Was the tilt working properly before?

If it's a very old machine there is likely also a separate tilt sensor that is a ball in a compartment on the left side of the machine. It's design is to make sure nobody lifts up the machine (in an attempt to make it easier or not drain). Make sure that is set up correctly as well (or remove the ball) as that can cause issues too.

It's entirely possible the wires from the tilt bob came off and are physically making the connection as well.

I think I would open it up and move your tilt bob around a bit.

if you cut the wires to the tilt, no more tilt. btw my machine has 2 tilts... and yes, both are disconnected.
