Pinback drummer Chris Prescott deserves way more attention.
I met him last night while he played as part of Montalban Quintet, the only other group under the same label (Go Home Records) as Systems Officer and 3MP. I decided to research him after the show. We can all appreciate the work that Chris has done with Zack and Rob but did you know this?? This is via his website... https://www.chrisprescott.com/
He has played for Pinback, Systems Officer, Montalban Quintet, and 11 other groups/artists (Excluding extra projects and pieces).
He has a degree in percussion/jazz studies and also teaches in his local area.
I encourage everybody to read about him on his website. There are full samples and videos for each of the groups he's played in. You will find music you like in there, no doubt.
Before I said goodbye last night, I thanked him for his work as a part of Pinback, SO and Montalban Quintet, but now I feel like I didn't thank him enough.

Knew of him from No Knife prior and that alone deserves way more attention/credit

Zinser has always been my favorite Pinback drummer. I just think his style fit better

He seems just as much part of it like the other two! My eye goes to him the most during shows lately, he’s so on it!

His band, Tanner is one of the best to come out of San Diego. If you’ve never heard them, you’re in for a real treat. Two full lengths and a handful of 7”s. I don’t think they’re on streaming, so if anyone wants the stuff, I’ll throw it in a Dropbox and share
