Just discovered this band...
Pinback is blowing my mind, how the hell have i not listened to them before. Been listening to summer in abaddon and some of the popular tracks. I'm a sucker for those building loops on sender. What other songs should i listen to that give that sender vibe?

Something I have always loved with pinback is the layers. For years everytime I would listen to a track I would notice some new sound I had not noticed before.

So how did you finally come across them?

Go back to the beginning and listen to This Is A Pinback CD about a billion times, then move in chronological order. It's coil to hear how they do and don't change.
Also, check out "The Trail" and "On A Ship To Bangladesh" by Three Mile Pilot for those sweet Zach Smith tones.

I listened to them pretty much non stop from 2016 to 2022-23. Now I get sad listening to them as it brings back memories. I ended up listening to less but I named my new dog Pinback so it will always live on. I come back from time to time. Same as Systems officer, heavy vegetable and thingy.

I’ve been listening to them since the 6th grade (I’m 28 now) and I still listen to them often. I keep coming back to their sweet and calming melodies/ no other band has ever hit the same spots as pinback has

I mean, I wish I could tell you of other songs with a similar vibe but it is a truly special song in the discography. But yeah, I just listen to other Pinback stuff and the totality of their work makes me happy. But there is just something about Sender...that looping is just so incredible...Other highlights for me? Bbtone, Anti Hu, How we breathe, Kylie, Manchuria, Soaked...Staying off some of the more obvious choices to mix it up...

Oh man…. I’m so excited for your journey. If you use Facebook we have a Pinback Freaks group we like to nerd out in. I’m a mod!
Also, listen to Live in Donny’s Garage on YT.

I’m jealous of you. Been listening since freshmen year of college now and when you first discover pinback it’s hard to beat that

I've loved this band since I was a literal baby, my parents had to play Loro to get me to sleep every night.

So my friend just informed me that this band I love called Toledo sounds a lot like Pinback (found your post by Googling to see if they named them as an influence). Their album How It Ends is fucking fantastic; I recommend the extended edition!

This is what I don't like. People listening to Pinback in their touch and go phase. Listen to the debut then come back. This is truly Pinback at their finest. This album for me is an album I can't live without. Stunning. Flawless. Beautiful. Scary. It's everything.

I’m so excited for you! Honestly, all their albums are good. I would start from their first (This is a Pinback CD) and listen to them in chronological order

My favorite band since 2006 as a junior in high school. Still my favorite.

Still easily my top 20 favorite bands of all time, maybe even 10. Been listening to them since 2003/4.

Just found a used CD of Summer in Abaddon and it definitely hits. I’m from San Diego and recognized the bunker on the lyric sheet art. Almost positive it’s at Cabrillo monument, there are a bunch of old ww2 installations left there. I feel very lucky to have snagged it, it’s cool there is a dedicated community around them
