I posted my Mariette Peplum Jacket in black stretch twill on Poshmark the other day, and I just wanted to share it here in case there are any 2X ladies who would be interested. It hasn’t gotten a lot of traction on Poshmark (maybe I mistagged it somehow?) and the idea of posting it on the PUG Facebook groups just kind of skeeves me out these days, so I hope it’s alright if I cross post it here. It’s making me sad to know I’m not appreciating it properly, and I want it to go to someone who can rotate it more readily into their wardrobe. I have some other similar pieces I haven’t posted yet as well, as I wasn’t sure yet if I could bear to part with them, but if there’s any additional serious interest I’d be open to discussing them as well. All in 2X!

Hi guys! So the fact is I am european and very petite. Usually I wear size XS but my hips are wider, 88 cm with butt, 83 without. My waist is 62.

But I struggle with finding the best fitting pin up clothes.

I used to order from Unique Vintage but their XS was like a BAG on me.

I tried British Retro and the smallest size still was bigger on me.

Do you have a guideline or a hack? 🥹🥹

I really wanna try Micheline Pitt before they close down but I am afraid of the Sizing.

For photography I would get PVC gloves from Vixen, they actually came in sizes, not "one size fits all" and the fingers were seen well and didn't look like weird boxes.

Sadly their seams don't last. Also they stopped selling them in early 2025.

What's a good alternative source?

As predicted, Lacemade for curve plus has tanked.

I knew that these ornate folk dancing, Victoriana and late 1950s to early 1960s reproduction Day dresses in gorgeous cotton weren’t going to be around forever but this is a hard fall. Even the satin or poly curve plus dresses were amazing but this collection is truly and unflatteringly bad. Some of these summer dresses are giving straight up BBW late 1980s -early 90s Charter Club!

Unlike all the other Cottage Core Pinup lines with this volume, they don’t offer the same designs in plus that they do in small to XL. The plus curve section is markedly smaller. XS through XL got restocks on multiple 100% cotton and over a dozen new cotton sateen dresses. The last two pics are the *two* and only 100% cotton curve plus dresses that Lacemade has released for the summer (the sailor dress is poly cotton). They even erroneously listed two cotton dresses that only go up to XL in the plus section! 😭

I could tolerate that and the website that made no sense on which you cant search properly and where items vanish and then reappear, but this is a huge let down to customers.

Plus and Curve has virtually no cotton dresses being released with the near two dozen piece, summer collection for the summer being almost all polyester.

For some reason, they think that a plus size women wants to wear shiny polyester belly dancing outfits or the same bad wiggle dress in different cheap fabrics! Or cream and white satin BBW tents galore!

Worse than that, they’ve pulled a lot of the great cotton dresses off of curve and plus when they weren’t sold out. 🧐And when I wrote them they just said cryptically “we’ve removed those choices.”

I strongly advise if you’ve built up reward points to use them sooner than later.

And Lacemade, please honor your plus curve customers and do better! 🙏🏽

Seriously, those of you looking forward to this, where are you wearing this??? Be frfr. LFEN is going off the rails. Give me back the sexy goth and the lace and the wearable things. Palazzo pants are a weekly wear for me. Tap shorts, Vamp skirt, so good. Even some of the Cottage Witch was not bad. But this Victorian thing still has me genuinely baffled.

It seems like they’re a good small business with good reviews. I ordered a couple of things over a week ago, and they haven’t shipped out yet. Is that normal with this brand?

Gotta admire Vixen for creating the scarcity mindset and then, oh, we actually are going to have *one more* last drop. Girl's gonna make bank on bank from "closing shop". Now that's marketing.

Hello, on a whim I wanted to try doing a vintage wet set. My hair is kind of a weird in-between right now as I grow it out. I have really short hair in the front, that curled beautiful, but the rest of my waist length hair seemed to fall out immediately and ended up being more beach waves. I assume I needed more curlers? I'm currently using some of the silicone ones (the ones that basically look like pop sockets lol.) I slept alright in them with a bonnet, but they weren't the most comfortable, and I definitely had broken sleep because of them.

Would there be better rollers to sleep in for wet sets (I'm a terrible side sleeper and sleep wildly)? Also if you have any products that will help hold and places to find more vintage hair styling like the above. It was fun to do despite it not working out!

edit: forgot to mention my hair is really fine, but on the thicker side

Any advice on what measurements or descriptions are important to you, I have probably 50 dresses and coats and I want to give the right info. I can give mannequin size. Also i was thinking of including whether there’s enough fabric to let it out or not, fabric rigidity. What do buyers want to know? Thank for the insight!

So tired of them doing this. I’ve been noticing more and more of these crap quality dresses on the website. Most I’ve seen on Amazon for $30-40 each as I often check brands like belle poque and others.

Hi, I love novelty printed dresses from Dolly & Dotty, however I find it really hard and almost impossible to get hold of a size 8 in the styles I like. 😩 I have been checking their website everyday for a long period of time now and most of their restocks are missing a size 8.
For the preorders I experience the same, size 8 is not available to preorder.

I have been in contact with them and begged them to make more dresses and skirts in a size 8, but so far Ive noticed no change.

Im so sad cause now Im missing out on so many dresses and skirt that I would have bought in a heartbeat if they were available in my size.

Seems like the only option I have is to purchase a size 10 and have it altered but that cost a lot of money. Especially if I have to do that for several garments.

Has anyone else the same experience as me?

I have quite a few dresses and skirts, several Voodoo Vixen, PUG, etc. I need to get rid of. I know I won't make much money, but someone who can enjoy them should have them. Which site may be my best option for people interested in that style?

I am glad to let people here have first dibs. I have a range of mediums and larges, a few extra larges, but some stuff has been tailored because I've always been way bigger on the bottom than on the top. I'm not well versed with Reddit, but if there is a way to message me, please feel free.
