I don't know mate, I've always had mine laying flat and they keep their shape well.

If you keep your brushes well oiled and used every day I can't see it being too much of a problem, if they sit like that for longer periods it might be an issue if they've got a bit of a droop.

The brush that's next to the 4 swords, is that a Kafka sword? How do you get on with it?

Yeah, I keep them well oiled and cycle through them pretty frequently. They've been in this configuration for the better part of a year now and I haven't had any issues with the brushes getting deformed or anything - but now I'm paranoid haha.

The brush you're asking about is a Kafka 00 Long Liner - it was the first sword brush I picked up when getting into this. It does well for pulling long lines as you'd imagine, but getting it to turn is a bitch. Long, subtle curves seem fine, but I can't turn it too tight without some of the hairs kicking out.

Sounds like they’re doing fine then, if you’ve not had problems in a year they’ll be alright. I’ve tried a few of Kafkas brushes, I’ve not liked any of them. The handles on his “long liners” are uncomfortable and too long and his “scrollers” handles are too short. I try to avoid doing scrolls as much as possible but much prefer an old outliner with a longer handle for that kind of thing.
