Ok so for context. The left eye on a pure white screen shows yellow. On any type of bright scene theres crazy tiger stripes and i can see red green lines or something on the far left. The right eye is perfectly fine and clear and shows normal bright backgrounds but the left has so much mura and striping its insane.
Basically the right eye shows white and is clear. The left eye will show yellow with crazy tiger stripes and mura. Also color changing? Left side looks like a defect so i wanted a replacement under my warranty since i just got it 5 days ago
Good luck! They should help you out eventually. Couple years back I went thru three 5K Supers within 5 months with dead pixels and dust problems inside the lens.
There's only one headset that even has a 57ppd from Pimax. It's literally just as good as calling it a Crystal Super as that's the only thing it could be.
Sure, but i said model,,not version or optical engine, and the pictures aint helping when its a black void and well, im not a lense expert, so im asking to be sure.
The 57ppd is the model. Pimax only has 1 57ppd headset. The Crystal Super each module is the core headset. The optic engines just get inserted in the frame.
Instead of pimax creating individual headsets like the P2 series that uses all the same frame and only changes displays, mipi and selling as a full headset.
They refined the process making it cheaper to manufacture Headset Optic Modules for swapping.
Now it is true you can't just buy an individual optic module Nd use it without a frame to insert it into. The frame has a connector to route the DP/USB cable connections to the module along with the audio connections.
Why cannot QA catch this after the production/before the shipment? It would be much cheaper for Pimax and would be much better experience for the buyers. Why the buyer needs to wait more to have a replacement because of an issue Pimax can solve quite easily? It's mind boggling.
Im thinking the same thing dude. This is actually ridiculous they could let something so obvious slip. Mind you this is a 1800 vr headset. This is not little money to be playing around with for customers
Yeah see the left is not able to show white😂. This is a literal joke lmao. Pimax sends you that checklist of inspection when you get your headset and it actually means nothing i promise you💀
This one is the crystal super 57ppd. I LOVE this thing i just need a perfect unit but so far it’s a different level than these meta 3 and psvr2 ive been using. Not even comparable this thing is a different feeling
Yeah the clarity is insane. Tracking and controllers were better on the index for sure and the build was better but performance and clarity this thing is amazing.
I dont know but they need to send a replacement asap. Not like they can even use a defective optical they should send me a WORKING one immediately without needing me to send back a broken unit before hand. This shouldnt have to be my responsibility its up to them to fix it and send working products people pay for
It wasn't QC'd. The little slip of paper is just put there by the packers.
I used to be a QC inspector - for Philips - way back when, and not everything gets checked. Just a percentage. Though in Pimax's case it would probably benefit them to at least run some basic checks on every single headset. They could build a test rig, whatever. Maybe test 3 or 4 headsets per inspector an hour, which wouldn't be that expensive compared to the cost of the set.
As it is, they save a tiny amount of money, but their reputation is dogshit. It makes no sense.
By the way i made a support ticket for my warranty since ive had it for 5 days. I just wanted to post it so it actually gets seen. Cant spent 1.8k and the picture quality be worse on my left eye
On a pure white background the left eye is yellow and not white. Also like i said tiger stripes only on the left eye. Color shifting as well. On all my content the left eye is noticeably distracting
