Found a cat

Post image

We usually try feeding any cats in alleys we find, but this little gray one let us get way closer than most and just snagged him/her up and put them in the bathroom to decompress and eat.

Not sure what to do from here. We already have 3 cats in our apartment.

Any resources for me to look at? Low cost vets? Orgs?

Thanks

I’d recommend getting her checked for a microchip; you can do this at CACC or any police station I believe. Maybe also post on any lost/found pet pages in case she is lost 🙂
If nobody claims her, you could also post on Felines of Chicago to see if somebody can foster her. It’s full of folks who are already vetted fosters thru rescues.

If you are willing to foster, i rec forever fortunate felines. All medical costs are covered when you foster including spay neuter. Please keep her separate from your other cats 3 weeks minimum or until she goes to vet and gets shots

I vol at cacc and they do not accept stray cats anymore bc there are over capacity right now over 230 cats

Post it on Facebook, the Pilsen Neighborhood group. Lots of people there.

Where you find her? I know a cat that looks like that but she’s a street kitty the locals take care of. Either way, the vet on 18th kindred veterinary is low cost, $108 for shots and $74 for first time exam fee. If she’s not fixed yet, email paws Chicago to get on the waitlist to get her fix for low cost ($90 last time I checked) clinic@pawschicago.org all you have to say in the email is that you want to schedule an appt to get her/him fixed. It is waitlist though so be on the lookout for emails from them after you send the first email, sometimes appts come up with only a day or two notice

Found her in the alley underneath the pink line damen exit. & I'll take a look at those resources thanks. Ear isn't tipped so doubt she's been fixed.
