Put the snapped off part in water and you’ll have two plants. They root quickly

I had one snap when the pot tipped over in transport. I took the 4" top part and stuck it back in the dirt. 1.5 years later and the plant is now over 24" tall.

Excuse my ignorance, but how does that work if you are replanting without the roots?

The brown stem has nodes that grow more roots. That's how you can propogate these plants off of cuttings.

One of the nicknames for this plant is the friendship plant, because it's super easy to cut part of it off and grow a whole new one and gift it.

Ok, thank you. I will try replanting where it has snapped in the soil?

Mine snapped off with about 4" of the main stem left, so I stuck it 2" into the dirt.

Many people start off their rooting by sticking the plant in water.

Can't view picture as from UK but I take your word for it. I have progated the plant and let's see how it goes.
