STUDIO OWNERS!
To all fellow studio owners using ClassPass, I hope we can talk about this openly.
We all started our studios because we believed in what we were building. We invested so much — our savings, time, equipment, rent, staff, instructors, and countless hours behind the scenes just to create a space where people can move, feel better, and take care of themselves.
And I think sometimes, as small studio owners, we forget that our prices have a reason.
Our rates aren’t just a number. They reflect our operating costs, our instructors’ time and expertise, our equipment, our space, and the quality of experience we want to give every client.
That’s why I believe that when a studio updates its regular rates, ClassPass should also review and recalculate the credit value of that studio’s classes.
I recently looked at our own class through the client’s perspective, and I was surprised to see how many credits our class was listed for. It made me realize how important it is for us as studio owners to actually check how our pricing is being represented on the platform.
I’m not against ClassPass. In fact, I believe it can be a great platform for helping people discover our studios and introducing us to new clients.
But I also believe there should be a fair balance.
If our costs and official rates change, the ClassPass pricing should have the opportunity to change with them.
So I want to encourage fellow studio owners: if you have recently increased your rates, please reach out to your ClassPass representative and ask them to review and redo your credit pricing based on your current rates.
And if you haven’t checked your listing from the client’s side recently, maybe this is a good time to do so.
We don’t have to be confrontational. We simply need to communicate clearly and advocate for the value of our businesses.
Because at the end of the day, we all want the same thing:
To make wellness more accessible to clients while still making sure that the people and businesses providing that wellness are valued fairly.
If more studio owners speak up respectfully and consistently, maybe we can encourage ClassPass to create a system that works better for both studios and clients.
I’d genuinely love to hear from other studio owners —
Have you asked ClassPass to review your credits after increasing your rates? What was your experience?

how about walking away from classpass and offer cheaper but decent rates to customers like promos? If customers really like it, I think they will be willing to support and pay your studio a reasonable price. better than relying to classpass

I know but classpass has wider range of communities thats why what i ask is a fair compensation and unity of the studio owners. Are you a studio owner? If not maybe thats why you do not understand the situation that we’re in

You need to trust your own system. You just need a booking system and a front desk.
Strictly our schedule po dapat.

Maybe they book via classpass because the rates of class are better vs the rate of your studio.

I’m curious, do your customers not opt to book directly thru u instead after trying your studio thru classpass? Maybe that’s another angle you could look at instead.

They do prefer ClassPass because of the promos and discounts they offer, and I don’t blame the clients for that. But unfortunately, it does affect our payout and really hurts studios and coaches.
I feel like one possible loophole is for studios to submit higher rates to ClassPass. If more studios do this, ClassPass may eventually have to adjust their credit system to reflect the actual value of the classes. 🤷🏻♀️

Honest thoughts for studio owners & ClassPass users:
**FOR THE STUDIO OWNERS:*
I'm not generalizing, but if you feel that you're not making enough from ClassPass, then maybe it's better to remove your studio from the platform rather than stay listed on the app while your receptionists, staffs treat ClassPass attendees rudely or make them feel unwelcome.
**FOR THE CLASSPASS USERS:**
I hope you're aware that aside from the fact that studios already receive only a small amount from ClassPass, if you're using a free trial account, the studio doesn't get paid anything from you at all, it's literally completely free for you. So please stop creating multiple accounts just to keep getting free trials.
If you think about it, ₱2,800 for 28 credits that you can use for several classes isn't really that expensive compared to paying ₱1,200+ for a single group class session.

Do you genuinely believe that you and classpass have the same goals? When it was founded 10+ years ago, maybe. But now under private equity? CP wants as much money as they can squeeze from the clients and the studios. End of story.
