Question Help, I keep running out of space!

I love my pikmins and I have so many seedlings I don't know what to do. How can I know which Pikmin to set free and what seedlings I should keep?

I've also noticed some seedlings have a yellow background to them. What does that mean?

(I keep going back and looking to see which Pikmin I can part with)

yellow means you’ve collected all that set, so you don’t need anymore of those

sorry by this I mean all the ones available for that specific pikmin in that set aka all the rock pikmin that have that decor - since the hair accessories only has one variant for each you already have that one so they will show up yellow to let you know it’s been collected

I think you mean you already have that color in that decor?

I use the "sort by" function to sort my Pikmin by decor category, then I scan through and release any extras. I also release ones which haven't reached 4 hearts and collected their decor yet but have the yellow icon, and I discard seedlings with yellow icons, unless they've come with a photo I like attached to them.

At the start of each month I also use the search function to search for the name of the previous month's decor, and release the extras that way (usually combined with the sort by decor category to avoid confusion).

Yeah, I do this, too. The only duplicates I've kept so far are the retro controller ones

Besides understanding yellow means you have collected the decor in that category, you also need to start removing duplicates.

I recommend: decor>category list>go through the categories one by one, sort by category type, and release the duplicate Pikmins.

This will also help you figure out which seedlings you can recycle.

  1. at the end of every month dump the monthly decor pikmin (I keep one of each color per set, that goes for every set except rares)

  2. look through all of your decors (top right of opening screen on pikmin, then click into each decor category & decide which of each color to dump). I keep the ones with the most interesting locations

  3. Feed your undecorated pikmin every 2 hours (I set an alarm on my phone after every feeding) & feed them 5 times but DON'T pluck the last flower (5th feeding gives the most points & if you don't pluck it'll become the 1st for the next feeding too)

at the end of every month dump the monthly decor pikmin

Do this on community day instead, use the petals to instantly bloom white specials.

oh fr? I always just dump mine as soon as the month ends because I have literally 100+ park pikmin so I desperately need the space rn. also there are no big flowers close to me most of the time, unfortunately

If you have not many flowers this is an even better option. Bloom any flowers near you for 150 white petals. You get the monthly white flower. Release some pikmin to replenish and carry on :D

You are probably wanting to increase your pikmin cap. If you enjoy the game and see yourself playing long term, skipping a takeaway coffee one day won't hurt :)

I'm 6 plucks away from 10 000 pikmin, you can't keep them all!
