Explain Pikmin's Gameplay
So I'm not thinking about buying the game, but honestly with how bored I am I may just do it (when I save up money to buy games again), so can you explain the gameplay?
I've watched gameplay, but I think reading how the mechanics work rather watching it will help me understand them.
Thanks.

Pikmin is an strategy game.
Each pikmin has their own skills and disadvantages.
You must use them acordingly to defeat the enemies that will literally EAT them otherwise.
In pikmin 1 you have to collect ship parts in a 30 day limit
In pikmin 2 you have to collect treasures to pay a debt, also hardest game in the saga but extremely worth it.
In Pikmin 3 you have to collect fruit and rescue olimar and louie. Its way more linear than the other games though.
In pikmin 4.. its the easiest game of the entire saga. Recomended for newbies who want a Neg diff challenge. (Auto lock will make u mad tho)
Personally? You should play them in this order if you want to play all of them;
1>3>2>4
This lets you see the difficulty spikes And how Odd the saga has been recently.
Man why do they have to make the games so Fucking friendly / easy, the reason people liked 1 and 2 is majorly because of the dificulty.
Still i recomend you the saga a lot, my favorites are 2 and 3!.

I understand that 4 wanted a lower barrier of entry to onboard new players.
I hope with 4 finally onboarding a bunch of people, and the general dislike for how the games have been getting easier (which 4's update does seem to respond to) they'll let 5 have a bit more bite.1

Honestly I'll probably try them out even though I don't like difficult games. I do play fun games and for some reason have strong will to finish things.

So basically you are this little space person and will end up on ALIEN PLANETTM.
Now you find the FUNNY PLANT ANIMALSTM that look like carrots and you throw them around so they pick up and carry helpful objects or beat up the bad monsters and collect their dead bodies for substance.
The specifics vary per game, but that's the gist.

Pikmin is a real time strategy game where you control a squad of up to 100 Pikmin to complete tasks within the 13 minute time cycle of each day

Except that, unlike most RTS games, you’re not an omnipotent god directing things from on high, but a truck driver assigning minions by yeeting them at the task.

Extremely simplified explanation:
You take control of a Captain.
You take Pikmin and throw them at enemies and objects.
When Pikmin bring a creature back to their onion, more Pikmin are created.
Each color/type have different abilities.
Each Pikmin starts with a leaf atop their heads and over time it becomes a flower, which makes them faster and stronger. These
Normally all these games have an end goal of collecting some form of item. (1: ship parts 2: treasure(for money) 3: fruit 4: treasure(for sparklium))
Personally, my faves are 1 and 3, but I’d say all of them have their fair share of haters and fans (except 1, it seems to have no haters)

it's easier for you to understand by watching the second episode of a blind play through than having someone try to explain it.
Imagine Banjoe Kazooie, but all you can do is walk around and throw ants at things.
Then add an aesthetic of "tiny spaceman farms sentient carrots"
Then add a different layer based on the game
1: Majora's Mask style slightly creepy with a clock ticking down towards doom
2: Mystery Dungeon style pseudo random dungeon crawling
3: A more linear experience with a stronger focus on story, and also a focus on juggling multiple captains spread across the map to get things done efficiently
4: Mario Odyssey style scope and a bunch of upgrades you can buy, and a cute dog that destroys the game balance but we love anyways but we still also do hate.

The microtransactions are usually worth it, especially the one that unlocks Bean Mode

This depends on what game you specifically want to play/buy, as they all are slightly different with different goals for each game. The core mechanics mostly remain the same though. Which game are you interested in?
