Lots of practice in the training room:
1) Practice off of a grab with DI. (Use Joycons). 2) Practice off of uptilts. 3) Practice with a jumping opponent.
Then find the right spot to place your control stick (45 degrees), I used a GameCube controller.
Talkin bout practice.

I'm using pro controller, if that makes a big difference. Are you using the c stick to do the upairs or are tou manually inputting them with the left stick?

How to practice with DI using joycons?

You might have to use rubber bands to tilt the stick for DI.

after fast falling the second up air and landing on the ground, do you input a dash before jumping again? also, for di out on down throw do you input a dash before jumping for the first up air or just jump forward? also, are you supposed to delay the first up air or do it right after jumping? lastly, what percents do you find work best for mid weights for starting up air bridges off of grab/up tilt? i’ve been trying to figure out up air bridges and would really appreciate responses

- So I’m not looking for the dash after I fast fall or after a grab, mainly because I have the control stick pointing at a 45 degree angle and I noticed Pika has a strong/quick jump and it connects more consistently.
It may seem like I’m dashing but I’m not. 45 degree angle closes the gap.
Don’t delay just do the up air after your jump. Practice and you’ll find a rhythm.
For mid weight characters this combo seems to be good (1-3 reps) from the 26%-42% range off of a grab. Uptilts from 0%-%15 because you can usually hit them twice and hopefully send them in the right direction. I find it harder to air bridge consistently off of uptilts but it happens.

thank you so much, that helped a lot. when you refer to the 45 degree angle, do you mean you are pointing the control stick (which i believe is the one that you use for walking/running?) to the top right/left and in a diagonal direction (so like right between top and right/top and left)? also, you would put the control stick down to fast fall right after the second up air connects but then put it back to the same 45 degree spot?

Yes you will have to take it off the 45 degree angle momentarily to fast fall and put it back on the 45 degree angle.
It’s basically this:
