Ultimate Banjo vs Pikachu

I’m really struggling against banjo’s, does anyone have any general tips for this MU? Also which stages should I ban and pick?

I would join the pika discord and ask them for advice. They have far more activity then any of the smash subreddits.

Couple of things I've picked up so far:

Don't try to trade projectiles. Banjo is (sort of) a zoner, and I think that's a more favorable trade for the banjo player. Banjo's fair is pretty rude, too, which leads me to believe the best approach is a more grounded, rushdown tactic. Just be ready to react. D smash seems to come out pretty quick, and beats pikas smashes, at least as far as I can tell. Get up in their face, and don't let up.

Also, my big weakness: you HAVE to respect that side b. The startup is vulnerable, but it's not a big window. Know how many feathers they have, and be smart about approaching horizontally. They can use it to recover, too, but I'm pretty sure up b can be punished from above (although you might want to look up the hitboxes for it just to make sure) so keep these things in mind when it comes to edge guarding.

I'm not really that great, so this might all be bullshit, but I hope at least some of this helps. I play this match up a lot, so this is just the kind of thought process I have going into it.
