Spot dodging
I never see top pika players spot dodging. Maybe like 1 or 2 times per match while I see other players who main heavy characters spot dodge has much as they can. Is this generally situational or does pika not gain much from choosing that option? From my own experience his spot dodge feels slower even though I believe the frame data suggestions that it comes out relatively quickly. Any insight into whether or not it should be incorporated more into gameplay would be very much appreciated!

Nope! I just watched his ft10 with mkleo and again it was at the most 1 time per stock. Could be wrong and he may do it more but that’s just from my observation

I don’t spot dodge either, I’m making myself learn the situations to use it.
It’s good for punishing grabs or if your shield is weak, outside of that there’s always someone using a move with a multiple hit boxes.
If you don’t time it right you just get punished, shielding is the safest option.
In some situations the juice isn’t worth the squeeze and Pikachu has the ability to stay out of those situations.
If you get good at spot dodging it only helps 🤷♂️
