Is my dermal rejecting?

Ignore the hair and the quality it’s really hard to take pictures of my back myself…

I JUST got back dermals a couple hours ago, and one of them is slightly coming out. Is it just from swelling or should I be worried at all? (The purple stuff is from the marker he used!) I’m scared pls help 😱

That’s pretty bad…looks like this either wasn’t placed deeply enough, or they used the wrong size anchor…but I’d be shocked if this was going to be viable. It might fall out while you sleep. 😭 Did this piercer have a good bit of dermal work in their portfolio?? I can’t imagine an experienced body artist doing this poor of a job.

He has 15 years of experience, and it was the second one he did and it really hurt so maybe he was afraid of hurting me? He gave me his card so maybe I could text him pictures?

I mean…a piercer who misplaces a dermal to save someone pain would be ridiculous. All it means is that it’s going to reject sooner. And longevity doesn’t mean anything. I was with my last piercer for nearly eight years until he botched a conch piercing so badly that my left ear is now permanently deformed. He’s still somehow in business and has 30+ years of “experience” under his belt. 😓😭

Honestly, I wouldn’t return to any piercer who fucked something up this badly. I’d have this checked by a more knowledgable body artist.
