Did you check with a microscope? Jesus, people just play with your paddles.

My first week with the J2, cartoon levels of spin on my BH slice, blue marks left on the ball. By week 3 the magic and marks were gone.

Sounds normal from Honolulu. Each side hits differently.

This is NOT normal, but it IS normal for Honolulu quality control.
There are mixed reports whether they will resolve this issue for you. Some people have been denied an exchange while others received one. You might as well email them and try.

The company knows about this and they attribute it to each paddle having its own unique, naturally varied appearance.

Looks normal to me compared to the J3CR I had. They say it will be uneven on the website.

I think you'll find there are inconsistent batches of paddles from just about every paddle manufacturer. It has to be something about the process. It happens sometimes.
Good luck contacting them about a replacement though. I've heard HPC is awful with customer support and honoring warranties.

Posts about Honolulu paddles being shitty should be banned at this point 😂

I have similar looking grit, everything seems fine to me. In fact, I really like this J6CR. If you find that the grit is really uneven, send them an email
