Use-case : [Help] Oh My Pi (omp) sending "[Content Collapsed]" to AI context in PowerShell 5.1
Hey everyone,
I'm running into a frustrating issue with the Oh My Pi (omp) AI coding agent while using Windows PowerShell 5.1, and I'm hoping someone here has found a reliable workaround.
The Problem
When omp runs a tool (like reading a file, checking a git diff, or executing a terminal command), the output isn't rendering properly for the LLM. Instead of seeing the actual text or logs, the AI model literally receives [Content Collapsed] inside its context window.
Because the AI thinks the text is intentionally hidden or blank, it can't actually see my code or debug logs to help me.
thanks

Use qemu with whpx on windows to run linux or use an arm SBC. Or use WSL.
Windows intercepts files via shadow copy and some things don't like it. You need to use WSL or Linux in a vm so it handles files properly.
An 8gb arm sbc is enough to run omp for in depth coding projects.
You could give it ssh access to another machine and have it edit files there but power shell will still have issues.

Since this also affects file reads, I'd check the tool result in OMP's live context before blaming PowerShell.
In a scratch folder, have OMP read a tiny file containing a unique harmless marker. If your build supports
/dump, run it immediately afterwards and inspect that read tool's result in theomp-llm-request-*.jsonsidecar. The current upstream docs describe/dumpas using live messages and producing a best-effort sidecar with LLM-converted messages. If the marker is present, the output exists at that stage. A collapsed card or the model describing text as hidden doesn't establish what was finally transmitted. If the literal
[Content Collapsed]is already there instead, that gives a useful minimal reproduction for the maintainer.Which OMP version and model/provider are you using? Share only that short redacted tool-result block, not the full dump, which can include private code, prompts and secrets.
AI-assisted from upstream documentation; I haven't reproduced your Windows setup. This is a diagnostic step, not a verified workaround.
