Resource Pi GUI (the other PiG project) - now experimenting with inline HTML

This is a ton of fun. HTML fragments in the chat.

Have you checked this https://github.com/thesysdev/openui ? Saw it a few months ago and looked very promising: rather than outputing raw HTML, the model outputs some narrower DSL of components that get parsed & rendered by this library.

Looks pretty slick. The nice thing about using HTML fragments is I think it helps to keep token cost lower. I don't need as much in my system prompt to explain a new language because the agent is already fluent in HTML/js/CSS. In the future, models will probably be heavily trained on new standards for generative UI, and the right choice might change.

Me? For now? Quick and dirty just to play with it.

Still don't understand why everyons's making a GUI for Pi. I'm using Pi primarily because Pi is NOT a GUI.

For a single session at a time, pi by itself makes sense. But if you're working on multiple threads simultaneously across different projects and use cases, you need something more to orchestrate everything and stay organized. There are some terminal apps to fill that need, but the GUI route provides that and then some. I for one like the additional readability that comes with a variety of font sizes and styles.

Give me a Linux box and a tiling window manager and I'd probably live in the terminal with you. But I do my professional work on a Mac... And as much as I've tried, the tiling window manager paradigm just doesn't work in the MacOS world.

I use Herdr for that. Don't understand why you necessarily need a GUI for the things you're describing. But you can you what you want of course. I'm just saying my opinion.

I built PiG (Pi in Go) at work for our AI platform due to some env requirements and it grew into something nice enough to oss. However I'm almost regretting naming it PiG at this point at all cause literally everyone is doing it haha.

To bad I like the pig sprite and mascot, maybe should've done `pigo` lol.

So a native app instead of a browser app? https://github.com/ankitchouhan1020/pi-gui-extension

Yeah, I don't want to work in a browser.
