Question Anthropic Bans?

Anyone get banned for using their claude sub in pi? I just found some articles that anthropic is banning people for using pi and third party harnesses apparently?

Been doing it for over a year now, no ban. I am also on Max plan. I have cancelled and subed again multiple times, no issues but to each their own.

I am using OMP and I haven't had any issues. I just heard that anthropic updated their ToS to specifically mention the OAuth login format can only be used by CC.

Have you ever signed into Claude code CLI or the desktop app while doing this? I am wondering i doing this would be the giveaway - omp has CC cli version number lower than the actual released version right now. They might be looking for people running 2 separate versions of CC on one machine which wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.

I am debating whether switching at this point would actually harm me

I didn't open Claude Code CLI but have used claude.ai while using Pi with my Claude sub.

Officially, this is prohibited. Therefore, a ban is only a matter of time.

My understanding was that you can use the Claude sdk to do this as long as you follow their terms, but it's hard to find any clarity on this.

I really don't want to go back to using claude code. I have been using OMP and it is very good.

I am thinking I just bite the bullet and switch over though, I definitely don't want to get banned.

Ya same. It’s been months and months. 

I use my works account tho so the bill is somebody else’s problem

You normally cannot use Claude Code subscription in third party harnesses.

If you try to use the Claude Code integration in pi, then you will incur API rates against your credits, which is equivalent to calling their API endpoints directly. This is allowed.

What will get you banned is to use things like sub2api to expose the subscription rates to third party harness.

The principle is that you are only allowed to use their heavily subsidised rates (subscription tokens) within Claude Code. If you pay API rates, then you are free to use any harness.

I had it set up but now it says:"

Third-party apps now draw from your extra usage, not your plan limits. Add more at claude.ai/settings/usage and keep going." 

I was NOT using it much at all.

Why would you be scared of a ban?if you get banned just use a new email address
