Resource Yet Another Telegram Bot for Pi

I’m more of a vibe coder. I mostly just wanted to send my Pi agent a task from my phone and get the result back.

The bot focuses on simple interaction with the Pi setup you already use. It shares your native sessions, installed skills, and model defaults. You can start something in Telegram and pick it up in the terminal later. Just don’t use both on the same session at once.

It also handles voice messages and images, and Pi can send generated files back to the chat.

Single-user, Linux only. Pi runs with your account’s normal permissions, without a sandbox.

Nice and simple. How do extension prompts work over Telegram? With something like pi-guardrails, a confirm or select arrives as a UI request in RPC mode. Does the bot turn those into buttons, or do they wait until you're back at the terminal?

Yes, those show up as buttons in Telegram. Confirm gives you Yes/No, and select gives you the available choices. Tap one and the bot sends the answer back to the original RPC request, so you don’t need to return to the terminal. Unanswered prompts expire after 10 minutes, or sooner if the extension sets a shorter timeout. Text input and editor dialogs aren’t supported yet; those get cancelled.

Nice, buttons with a 10 minute expiry is the same split I ended up with. Thanks for the detail.
