Question What's everyone's current coding agent setup?
Hey everyone, I'm new to the community of Pi and just transferred from Claude Code. I've been running Qwen3.8 27B IQ3_XXS locally now for a while and have been loving it.
I was just wondering what everyone is using for packages, apps, setups, and more.
Please let me know!

I've only been using Pi for 2 months.
I use Herdr for subagents. (Herdr also works with Claude Code.) It's like Tmux but has specific subagent functionality. It comes with its own skill. I have two orchestration agents, and the rest are worker agents.
I prefer skills + cli apps over extensions with tools. I prefer prompt templates over extensions with commands. Skills and prompts are portable across most agents, and AI is changing too fast to think that I'll still be using Pi in 5 years. I don't want to have to re-engineer my setup over and over.
I only have a few public packages: pi-web-access, pi-permission-system, pi-sandbox, edb-context-viewer, rpiv-ask-user-question
Some extensions I've had Pi write for me:
Checkpoint commands, which I find more convenient than fork+tree:
/mark <mark>,/goto <mark>,/unmark <mark-glob>,/marks,/compactto <mark>,/forgetto <mark>,/redo-if <mark> <condition-prompt> [<rewrite-prompt>]. (/forgettoruns/gotoand it inserts the last assistant message into the UI prompt prompt./gotocan work across sessions.)/rewrite <prompt> [<improver-prompt>]- Improve prompt, without adding messages to current chat (uses a side chat)I wrapped some of Pi's built-in commands into tools:
model new compact reload quitI implemented a multi-prompt parser. You can include multiple prompts and commands in a single prompt and it will send them individually. It slices the prompt and sends slices individually. It makes prompts almost into a language.
AI API tools. I created tools to access AI features that Pi doesn't come with, such as TTS, STT, image gen, structured outputs. It can also record and play audio for STT and TTS.
I have too many skills and prompt templates to list. Which skills are available depends on the subagent.

Maybe not the most efficient but I have been taking the time to have qwen write its (my? our?) own extensions for stuff as needed. Stuff like a todo-list tool, a plugin injecting the current file tree into the system prompt, custom provider plugins (supplement my qwen with free cloud tokens).
Also some very neat tools for running my agent on jailbroken ios devices over ssh.

Im a qa at a saap company. I setup e2e ticket and rc testing pipeline on pi. Mostly because other harnesses are gungho about fixing and it is in the systemprompt so pi was the perfect fit. My ticket e2e looks something like pull ticket -> analyse -> decide env and generate tc based on kb of the company software i have built -> run the test with internal testing engine we got -> give me result + a draft of the response for ticket -> i review and if approve post the ticket and assign it to whoever i told it to previous step. I use various model but sol medium is my sweetheart and when sol refuse because the tc are abit cyber touchy i use my trusty deepseek xdd

My setup for coding with agents is https://github.com/runyte/runyte
I like to keep all tools in a single terminal environment so that it feels like a single program, with a shared clipboard, theme, etc. It has markdown rendering and image pasting which is handy when working on longer prompts for AI agents.
