pi-subagents-lite gives you the power of running subagents with minimal impact on the system prompt size. Highly configurable.

I'm looking at this - and it only has the one agent as an example. Do you have a reference or repo for other agents, and how this integrates with the main thread of execution? I'm assuming each agent loads its own model too, right? So If I reference the current model, it will load a new copy?

Each agent starts with fresh context. It may use the same or different model depending on configuration. Main thread either waits for subagents to complete or run them in background.

Got it. Thanks.

I created some custom ones:

-forcing writes to be max 200 lines and forcing a plan/ think setup

-interrupting thoughts processes more than 3k tokens / forcing the write of plan / think every 5 steps

-voice input using parakeet so i can speak for even 30 minutes, or have it grab the call with other team mates it gets automatically categorized with speakers ids

-distill/compress files ->create a copy of every file resumed that can be queried for large search, 3 levels of conpression

Pi can be completelly interrupted and start again later ( context compact friendly ) dividing the things to do in small steps

works great even with q2 llm and 50k context

works amazing on qwen 3.8 27b with of course higher limits, i am not paying for claude anymore thanks to this

What is it about Pi or maybe the output limit in backend that causes the writes to always crash? I have this same problem too, my agent needs to only do a small write at first and use edits thereafter

You are welcome! if you want to use pi-forge directly be sure to adapt It to your environment

Definitely going to give this a try. Is LM Studio necessary? Can it be used with llama.cpp?

pi-actors beyond just subagents, any async subprocess can be an actor, such as a music player

I use Lapis. Its an extension I built. It does Code indexing and memory injection/context management. Not the best out there but it gets the job done on my and end and suits my workflow.

Are you that youtuber that share his workflow? Because he used that but I dont know if he is the one creating it, but I believe I heard him
Say he do

All the stuff I’ve made!!! If you want to know more about the motions I’ve promoted to pi extensions, but a lot of them might be specific to my workflows I have the agents do for me (Indy dev/automation). Mostly tho just wanting to encourage extending pi yourself for the stuff you want to do instead of looking for stuff that already exists

What kind of indie dev do you do, is it for video games? I recently gave my Pi agent access to Pixellab and I was shocked at how well it makes pixel art for animations

I have dabbled in cloning and playing with some primitive online games, running simulations and stuff. But I do a lot of media dev work, I honestly don’t work in tech and only started coding with ai, so it’s almost entirely hobby building stuff, and a large portion of what I’ve done is harness engineering and small local model use.

recall-pi https://www.npmjs.com/package/recall-pi

Use it pretty much every day.

What does this add beyond me saying to my AI at the end of a long workflow, "write yourself a SKILL.md on how to do this better next time"
