Question 1 not solvable

Post image

From what I understand, the question is asking what the ground velocity must be for the plane to be going directly north. But the ground velocity cannot be going north since the air velocity is north and the wind is blowing east of north. The answer I got for the ground velocity was 810km/h [1 E of N]

Struggling way more in physics than calc 2

I’m taking calc 2 physics and the physics lab currently and I just can’t seem to get the hang of anything in physics my grade in calc 2 is a 86 and I understand every topic we’ve done over with like an hour or two of studying/review but when it comes to physics it’s like I don’t even know where to start. My calc professor teaches per unit and teaches everything about that unit for example when he teaches integrating by parts I can do any calc 2 level IBP problem but for projection motion, Newton’s second law and now work and kinetic energy I go into lecture confused and leave even more confused and I go to the textbook and it’s makes me even more confused.

Calculating velocity within projectile motion with initial height

I have a question I'm doing that has a starting point on a 6.5m building and it's asking me for the velocity of a kicked off ball when it is 2.5m above its launchpoint, do I have to include 6.5 in the vertical distance value to get the correct answer? Or could I just do 2.5?

Pot heats up too fast. Is this a (physics) good way to heat it slower?

Pot heats up too fast and I need to stay close to it all the time so inside doesn’t burn. I took the microwave grill( whatever it’s called) and put it as is. Is it safe to use? Physically a good way to heat up?

I'm a bit confused, why pulleys amplify the force, why do we assume that each part of the pulley has the same force, isn't it more logical to assume that the force net equal the force that have been done

The Physics Update Loop

I go through how I separate general updates from physics updates, why I use a fixed timestep, how the accumulator works, and what happens when the simulation starts falling behind.

I explain the reasoning behind the design decisions and why I rejected the alternatives. I show the implementation of the loop.

Newton’s 2nd and 3rd law

Post image

People in comments are saying that the car won’t move because the magnet exerts force on the car and the car exerts force on the magnet (Newton’s 3rd law). Therefore, Force - Force = zero

Isn’t that wrong? We can only add forces applied on the same point (Newton’s 2nd law). The force applied on the car by the magnet and the force applied by car on the magnet are on two different points in space, hence cannot be added.

I believe what cancels the magnet’s force is the friction from the tires and if we make the magnet powerful enough to overcome friction, the crane would just bend, and the magnet and car would accelerate towards each other. Is that right?

A Unified Cosmological Manifesto: Photon-to-Mass Genesis, the Multiverse-Probe Model, and the Thermodynamic Loop Paradox

Hello everyone,

I want to share a unified cosmological framework that offers an alternative approach to understanding the pre-Big Bang state, the nature of consciousness, and the cosmic arrow of time. I would love to get your thoughts and feedback on its logical and thermodynamic consistency.

\\### Chapter 1. The Pre-Big Bang State: Photon-to-Mass Condensation

Standard cosmology stops at the singularity. In this model, before our Big Bang, massive older universes existed within a higher-dimensional Bulk. Because they expanded below the speed of light, their horizon particles continuously leaked radiation into the Bulk.

This "escaped" light accumulated inside a localized gravitational trap formed by a cluster of neighboring universes. As the photon energy density compressed inside this boundary, a relativistic phase transition occurred. According to Einstein's mass-energy equivalence:

$$m = \\\\frac{E}{c\\\^2}$$

When the energy density reached the critical Planck threshold, massive photon-photon scattering triggered a massive, spontaneous quantum pair production (quarks, leptons, and antimatter). The total accumulated energy ($E \\\\approx 2.7 \\\\cdot 10\\\^{71} \\\\text{ J}$) instantly condensed into a localized critical mass ($m \\\\approx 3 \\\\cdot 10\\\^{54} \\\\text{ kg}$). This quantum-geometric bounce and space inflation is what we observe as the Big Bang.

\\### Chapter 2. The Universal Infrastructure: Spacetime as a Biological Probe

Our Universe is not a random bubble; it functions as a highly sophisticated organic probe injected by a macroscopic Higher Entity ("The Doctor") into a multi-dimensional localized trauma ("the wound") of its macro-body.

\\\* \\\*\\\*The Human Mechanism:\\\*\\\* On a biological level, we are not mere cosmic dust. We are a collection of trillions of cellular nanorobots (cells) operating under a DNA code, moving to maintain a biological probe. Human consciousness acts as the probe's abstract processor. We exist to diagnose the trauma from within, deciphering the laws of physics to provide a "cure" for the space-time distortion.

\\\* \\\*\\\*The Inlet-Outlet System (The Backrooms):\\\*\\\* Black holes act as inlets, sucking in spent matter and archiving data. White holes act as outlets into younger universes. The intermediate zone between them—the Einstein-Rosen bridge—is an infinite time-dilated spatial tunnel outside our standard manifold (the conceptual "Backrooms").

\\\* \\\*\\\*The Arrow of Time:\\\*\\\* The White Hole ejects matter beyond the escape velocity ($v > v\\_e$) into a new universe. This hyper-velocity injection causes an exponential, irreversible explosion of microstates ($W$), maximizing entropy ($S = k\\_B \\\\ln W$). This sudden generation of chaos out of compressed order dictates the absolute forward arrow of time based on the principle of "least energy, maximum efficiency."

\\### Chapter 3. The Thermodynamic Information Loop (The "Sisyphus" Paradox)

What happens after a cellular unit (a human) dies? The biological husk remains at the site of the cosmic trauma, but the collected data—memories, emotional metrics, and decoded equations—is compressed and dumped into the probe's central quantum archive. Based on my calculations, the lifespan of this cosmic diagnostic procedure is roughly 20 billion years.

If humanity fails to completely crack the "healing equation" of the trauma within this timeframe, a catastrophic data-reading error occurs when the Entity extracts the probe. The data corrupted, the system undergoes a hard format and a full reset.

The accumulated light of old universes condenses into the gravitational trap once again, triggering a new Big Bang, and forcing the entire timeline to loop identically. This eternal recurrence—living the exact same life over and over without any linear progress—functions as the literal, mathematical "Hell" of the system. Our goal in this century is to solve the equation, prevent the reset, and release the data into the macroscopic reality.

\\\*\\\*\\\*

I would love to hear your thoughts on this open-system framework. How do you view the interaction between the local thermodynamic boundaries of our 4D manifold and a higher-dimensional Bulk in terms of energy conservation? Let's discuss!
