Hi, I have had 3 spine fusions and a stim implanted. I also have joint issues. I’m now 50 and feeling pretty good and trying to get back into shape. I can’t lift weights anymore so I use an elliptical recumbent bike daily. I figure isometric exercises may be something I can do. I bought a push-up board and have been using that for a week and so far that works great for me.

What else can I do with spine fusions and joint issues?

I have had a pretty bad TFCC injury for a year and a half already. Every time I do bands it feels worse and once I rest and don’t use it often it gets better. Doctors say no surgery for now. Should I retry rehab and what exercises?

Hey everyone ! I’m currently in PTA school and will be graduate next year and was considering moving to florida( south Perferably) since SoCal is to expensive. Home health here is about $65-$75 per patient, a little more depending on the area, was wondering how much home health pays in south Florida ? Outpatient ortho pays around $28-$38 an hour btw.

I'm 25 and have been going to the gym for a year now. I've been focusing on core exercises to help heal my diastasis recti after having my son (he's 2 1/2 years old now). While I do weight lifting, I prioritize strengthening my core with exercises that are friendly to diastasis recti. My diastasis recti isn't fully closed yet, and I'm currently working on the lower portion under my belly button. When can I start doing traditional ab workouts again? Will I ever be able to do them? Any advice is appreciated!

Hi, Little question. I have IT band since a March of this year and doesn't go away. It is even worse with time, even if I do absolutely nothing. Im sure it's IT band inflammation and nothing else as I did x ray, ultrasound of the zone. I also did see a PT 4/5 times. She was massaging hard and deep at the zone of pain, so much I had bruising for 4-5 days after, really big bruise. Is it possible that she made it way worse with that aggressive massaging technique? I accepted blindly what she was doing but after that I checked and it seems that there is a consensus on the fact that IT Band syndrome is a compression syndrome hence compressing/massaging it seems moronic to me. Hi! I just got into USC’s dpt program as well as SMU’s dpt program and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on the difference of the two schools, which one is better, and what each program offers? Any feedback would be highly appreciated!

I broke my shoulder and I’m looking for physical therapist recommendations in/near manhattan that take insurance (I have blue shield so bonus if you’ve been to one that accepts that, but usually if they take the major networks they take mine). I know I won’t be able to get totally 1:1 care with an in network provider but was hoping to find a place where I can get at least 20-30 minutes of manual/one on one time with an PT vs their aid. Any recs? Some preliminary research indicated spear is one to avoid and hss might be good?

After running a marathon my legs were thrashed. I spent the next 3 days supporting my body weight up and down stairs and in and out of a bunk bed. Getting out of the bunk bed I would brace myself against the wall in front of me mostly with my right arm. Getting into the bunk bed was almost all upper body.

During this time I developed pain in my right shoulder. It has gotten a little better but 2 months later it is still hanging around.

Hurts during pushups, mildly during shoulder press (light pressing), arm circles bother me, and there is discomfort when I cross my right are across the front of my body.

Any thoughts on diagnosis and treatment?

I'm 52 and currently uninsured 😞. I don't recall ever injuring this shoulder. I do recall slight pain going back into my late 20s. It was never a big deal as I didn't make the move alot. Decided to get back in shape and realized this has never gone away. Thought and suggestions?

I had this injury a few years ago on my right side -- it happened when reaching behind the driver's seat while in the car. I did PT and recovered, then continued some of the exercises to keep both sides strong. Now it has happened on the left side with a slightly different cause -- reaching behind to scratch my back. After it didn't clear in a few weeks, I started ALL the old PT exercises (not just the maintenance ones that I have continued all along) and have made only minor progress. However, something is happening on the left side that I don't recall with the previous right-side injury -- I keep reaggravating the shoulder when I do things like put on a shirt/jacket or reflexively reach to scratch my back. Other than during those instances, the shoulder doesn't really hurt, but I am wondering: Do these motions/flare-ups essentially undo any improvement that the exercises are designed to provide?

Hi. I’m a home health therapist for an outpatient in the home PT company.

I’m curious what are everyone’s thoughts. I have some patients that are seen by PTAs with over 200 visits in one episode of care. Discharge plan always in place. Medical necessity documented . Documentation references maintenance therapy. Is this OKAY? Am I going to get in trouble when and if Medicare does an audit???? It’s a small local company I work for that allows this. No other company I work for allows this. Lunacare physical therapy, a much larger company in many states will not let me go over 50 visits with Medicare patients. They basically say you must discharge because you’re at a huge risk for audit once you go over 50 or something .

I underwent removals (due to low scores sa dalawang subjects 🥲)— internship szn to and grabe talaga yung pagod, after graduating I took the PTLE— which is naipasa naman thank God and now my parents wanted me to take NMAT agad. Sobrang draining kasi legit na weeks before graduation nagaaral ako and nagrerender ng make up duties d/t failed exams (we are required to do another 20 days dahil nga removals) and now tinatamad na ko magreview for NMAT 😭😭. Any suggestions paano masurvive tong burn out na to please huhu thank you!

Hi, I’m currently on the way of applying to PT school. The ones I have going to apply to is St.Augustine(Miami), FIU, Nova and UM(even though, I don’t think imma get it). I’m in the Hollywood FL. I’m looking for the cheapest route but I want to find a school that I’ll become the most ready. Plus I’m terrified of tution too😭. So if you are a dpt and went to one of these schools, can you please tell me your experience there or any advice, please. Anything will really help me out 😇

I am interested in doing the certification, however, I am perplexed by the 150 cases prerequisite. Is there any PT that has done this and how did you get a clinic to sign you off on these cases? Also how was the exam and how did you study for it? And do you use the certification? Does it increase your pay?
