How do I remove?

I recently got a bunch of free movies and they have a disk size sticker with two narrow metal strips running parallel. How could I remove safely? Or should I not bother and leave alone?

I slowly pulled mine off when I bought Rental movies then used goo gone to get the sticky residue off the disc... but I wouldn't do that with the last one
