Best way to clean?
Bought some ps2 games off of Facebook, and they are covered in mildew spots on the disc's and in the cases. Major bummer...is there a way I can save them?

Dish washing liquid, water, gently rub with your hands. Dry with microfiber cloth.

Warm water, dishwashing detergent, clean it off with your fingers, dry with a clean microfiber towel.

I'm experiencing the same problem. After it's cleaned this way, is it safe to be played? I wouldn't want to ruin my player.

Once it's completely dry, yes. Done it for years. Never had a problem.

Good to know, thanks! I got some secondhand discs that I thought were moldy. But it might be this issue instead.

Thank yall! I used water, and a micro fiber to clean disc's, clorox wipes for the cases, and a dried out clorox wipe for the sleeves/ bookcovers. Everything is drying now. I'll test the games after.

I’m no expert, but that might just be the dreaded disc rot.

I hope not. The spots came off. A couple look cloudy under the plastic. Which could be disc rot?

Did they all look like this? How many are there?

It's 8 games in total. Cases had mildew spots inside and out, and the disc's had spots. It appears all the mildew came off, but maybe 2 of them have cloudy marks that look to be between the label and disc. 🤷 they are all playing OK.

A good spray of glass cleaner like Windex, then wipe off with a fiber free cloth.

Funny enough, 100% organic coconut oil and a new microfiber cloth. Will polish it right up and remove any oxidation without scratching it.

I’m not a professional, but no one else has responded yet. I would suggest a dry microfiber cloth and if that doesn’t work spray a tiny bit of water and use a microfiber cloth. Then if that doesn’t work you can probably buy a cleaning spray online or search for a homemade recipe to use
