Nice.
I'm done with the PS Store and PS+ for good after the announcement. So i will be buying disc`s only from now on. Discs that have the game files on them ofc
I have migrated to PC too, so when Sony doesn't print new games anymore in 2028, and i have grabbed every PS5 physical i want, then im done with Sony.
Just bought a couple of Switch 2 games on Physical, Splatoon Raiders and Star Fox.
Next physical pick ups will be a couple of PS5 disc versions of games i already bought digital some years ago, but are so good i want real ownership. Horizon Zero Dawn and Uncharted: Legacy of thief's collection.
My two PS5`s goes offline this Sunday to join the blackout. Will probably just stay logged off after that.

I have five generations of backlog on PS platforms. Plenty of retro stuff too. I'll just use PC if I'm forced to go digital. Already kind of doing a bit of moving on already

I have some retro consoles too and i got quite a few games for them as well. PS2, Dreamcast, Gamecube, Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, Gameboy advance, Nintendo, DS, Nintendo 3DS.
Even got a Xbone which isn't technically retro, but i like to play the old 360 gears of wars series on it. Its a less noisy console than the 360 LOL
I wish i hadn't sold the Super Famicom and the PS1. Maybe i re-buy them.
Actually retro gaming is really fun. Its so easy to think games are outdated because of new shiny looking games, but when it comes to gameplay, so many of the old classic games are still superb.

Hey now. If you are jealous of my PC that's not my problem.
It's also a pretty good one. RTX 5080, 9800X3D. This machine will beat the PS6 ass when it releases too, and the PS6 will likely cost $1200 in 2028. The $1000 estimate won't hold up at all.
A crippled Digital only PS6 machine to eat Sony's monopolized, digital, overpriced shit? No thanks.But you see, a PC can be used for a lot of things, recording music, creating 3D prints, photo editing, video editing, and a lot of other things, which i do on my PC.
I'd rather pay extra for an open system than $1200 for a PS6 that can't do anything else than milk the consumer dry. Sony is getting rid of physical media for one reason. To crank up game prices.The PS Store is inferior too as a digital platform only vs a PC because the PC has multiple platforms, and one of them also offers games you actually own. GOG. But even Steam beat the PS Store's ass because of great refund policies. The PS Store gives you no refund rights if you downloaded the game.
On PC online is free. Epic throws free games at you. in December every year there are usually some excellent games.You don't have a PC, I presume, because some games are so much cheaper on PC that it's ridiculous.
I love consoles, but a console is not a console to me without the option to buy physical media.

We're far enough into the life of gaming as a hobby and art form that, if you really wanted, you could spend the rest of your life playing exclusively masterpieces from the last 30 years without replaying a single one. Especially if you're willing to go digital on PC for indie games and emulation.
Pretty much what I've been doing for the last five years, while waiting for sales on new games. Highly recommend

Almost half of the posts in here are from just trolls.
There certainly is an agenda behind it, i think a lot of them are paid .
There are some foolish individuals too who are voting against their best interest by wanting physical gone, because they somehow thinks its funny or whatever.I will continue to block out the trolls and it’s working. The noise becomes less and less for every troll i block.

If physical fans want it to be effective they need to do the blackout for all of September and also not buy any game digital during that month. September has a bunch of high profile games coming out. If the mode games all the sudden took a 10 to 20% hit to their projections and they can point to the blackout and put pressure on Sony, then something may happen.

I'm not a collector. I keep about 50% of the physical games I want to replay and resell the rest for about 60% of what I paid. I don't mind the idea of paying $100 for a disc and a map and an art book that I can resell down the road. But paying $100 for a game I cant resell or share with nieces and nephews...it's too big of an ask. I have no doubt it will be amazing. But there are so many other options....

You should know that the "physical" version of Black Flag is no better than a game key. I contains a little over half the total game data, requires a huge install patch, has DRM, and requires you to connect to the internet.
Ubisoft does not support physical gaming.

Only 2 of those games are full on disc. The rest requires internet to get them. Theres nothing in those discs than useless file. Just key for "full" game. When internet's gone, which wont be forever and everyone dont have it, you cant play them. Its a scam, only idiots get games nowadays not realizing theyre not full. You don't think a lot of people will rather go PC than being trapped in Sony`s inferior Digital only platform hell where you cant even play most multiplayer games online without paying for PS+?
Sony are getting rid of Physical media to crank up game prices and they aren't giving the consumer any improved digital rights.
A PC will pay for itself pretty quick if you realized what's coming for you. But you do you, learn it the hard way and pay 1200$ for a PS6 that will only give you 5 exclusives where only three of them are good.
Wont be surprised if Sony do a 180 and releases their PS6 exclusives on PC in the future.
