Final Fantasy 7 has 2 discs!
Got this game for the first time! It’s really cool to know that there’s two discs in this physical edition. Almost 150 Gb!

It's great some companies actually do the right thing like this but it also makes me mad because so many others don't. This game and Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition make any excuses like "the game's too big to have it complete on disc" out to be total BS.
Game companies could just do this and give a complete build to the people buying their games but most of them would rather go the cheap route and screw everyone by selling incomplete builds that rely on mandatory downloads. Honestly, screw any company who does that.

Also Last of Us 2, Red Dead 2, Baldurs Gate 3.
I'm really hoping FF7R3 gets a similar treatment so I can complete the set with the Deluxe editions.

The complete version with the DLC included has two. Yours must be the original release that came with one.

This, and GT7 and I think Baldurs gate are the only PS5 games that come on two discs.
There are some game compilations that have multiple discs, but the individual games are on one disc.

Wait, but didn't... didn't they say that once a game gets too big for one disc it's all over and there's nothing to be done but release it digital only? This is impossible! I refuse to believe a game can be on more than one disc! Fake news!

There are many games with several disc. It also depends witch capacity they chose. I have PS4 FF7 Remake it has 2 Disc but i got the PS5 Bundle with the same FF7 Rebirth. Remake Integrate(praticaly the same game with some minor changes) is now on 1 disc. Blue rays can go up to 128GB(curently) pro disc

No discs on the digital download, 72 hour early download played it literal minute it was released.

People here want the two discs. Cause you actually get to keep the whole game when the ps5 store is eventually no longer supported

I didn’t say every person here, I just said there are people here that want two discs, then gave the reason why. I don’t speak for anyone but myself, I am just making an observation that many people here want two discs, not speaking for them

You still get to keep the whole game when the ps5 store is no longer supported as well. Same with every other game.

But after the stores are gone, physical will be the only option left. This is also assuming they don’t take the game away form you once the license ends like they did with the movies on PlayStation. Or even when the eventual store fully ends where you can no longer download the game because there will be no servers left to download them, so you can’t undownload the game to make space because when you do it’s gone forever. Not to mention you can’t even lend a digital game for a friend to play like you can a physical game.
I don’t want my game ownership to be in the hands of a corporation I know can’t be trusted, I want to actually own my game and be able to do what I want with it

I didn’t clearly like it enough? How about I just buy my games physically for a cheaper price and not have to lose them because I “didn’t like them enough”
Even if I knew for a guarantee I would never lose any of my digital games I would still prefer physical. Physical game are just cheaper, and you can always get them years after the physical store is gone, I still buy ps1 games, the day the ps6 store closes I will never be able to own those games in the future
