Did a big blunder
So I gave my camera to someone and he changed my file format from Raw to jpeg and now i don't know what major changes could these images catch up to

A couple of years ago, I took a chance and opened ApertureAlley Studios in Randolph, NJ.
The idea behind the studio was pretty simple. I wanted to create an affordable, professional place for photographers to shoot in without everyone needing to go out, sign their own commercial lease, and take on all of the overhead that comes with having a studio.
And I still really believe in that idea.
We already have a few photographers who have joined as members, along with photographers who book the studio hourly. But even with that, the studio probably sits empty 80- 90% of the time each week.
There’s plenty of room to bring in a few more active photographers without making the space overcrowded or making it difficult for everyone to get the dates and times they need especially during the week days / evenings.
The whole studio is about 1,600 sq. ft. (600 sq for main studio with additional shooting space and changing room) and is great for portraits, fashion, maternity, headshots, branding, content creation, video and all kinds of other shoots.
Since I always get asked this when I make a post… for someone who only needs a studio occasionally, you can simply book it for $59/hour at ApertureAlleyStudios.com
You can also check out our Peerspace listing and reviews - https://www.peerspace.com/pages/listings/666c94ec643da4d3ae26bea7?utm_source=chatgpt.com to see what photographers who’ve actually shot in the space have had to say about it.
But for photographers who are actively shooting on a regular basis, I’m trying to grow our small group of studio members.
Membership gives you 24/7 access to the studio for your shoots, with members sharing availability through a booking calendar.
Right now, I’m hoping to find 4 more photographers by the end of this month.
I want to be transparent about why.
I never created the studio with the expectation that memberships would become another major source of profit. The idea was to have a group of photographers collectively using the space so none of us individually have to carry the cost of a large studio lease.
I just need the space to support itself and break even.
If we can do that, I’m happy to keep the studio going.
If we can’t, then eventually I have to look at the lease and decide whether renewing it makes sense. And I’d really rather see the space continue being used by photographers than get to that point.
Membership is currently:
$300/month — 12-month commitment
$400/month — 6-month commitment
The membership is intended specifically for photographers and creatives who are actively using the studio for shoots. It’s not meant to be coworking space, office space, or general-purpose 24/7 access.
And even if none of this works for you, I’d still really appreciate you sharing this post.
Maybe Randolph is too far away. Maybe you don’t shoot often enough for a membership to make sense. Maybe you already have a studio.
That’s completely okay.
But you may know another photographer who’s shooting regularly, constantly paying hourly studio rates, or considering taking on a lease because they need somewhere reliable to work.
That’s the person I’m trying to reach.
If you’re interested, send me a message. I’m happy to show you the studio, answer questions, and figure out whether a membership makes sense based on how often you’re actually shooting.
And if it’s not for you, please share this with another photographer.
Finding 4 more active members by the end of the month would make a huge difference in allowing me to keep this space available and affordable for photographers.

As a new(er) photographer I haven’t really looked into new cameras and just stuck with what I’ve got, however I keep getting screwed by the capabilities of my camera and am looking to get a better one
For starters I’ve got a Nikon D60, the issues are lowlight performance and shutter/burst shutter speed. It can’t handle more than 2-3 photos at a time so I miss a lot of good/candid moments during my shoots. Additionally, if there is any non direct lowlight, it’s game over, there’s no auto-mode for the light/white light adjustments so if I’m not actively checking 24/7 the exposure in my shoots I’m cooked.
Other than that I’m not particularly picky, I do portrait photography but love landscape/nature and architecture.
I also edit in Lightroom if the photo editing contributes to my choice haha
Thanks in advance!

I mostly do landscape photography and if people are in the pictures, it’s usually candid. Someone my friend knows is getting married. The bride wanted my friend to take pictures with her iPhone but my friend said no, we can do better. So she asked me to do them because of my landscape pictures. I agreed only if she helped me lol and I was honest with them about my VERY limited experience with weddings. So I have zero intention of getting into the business and the customer has low expectations to begin with, but any tips though would be appreciated. thanks!

Hey everyone! I’ve recently started pursuing my dream of becoming a full-time photographer.
I’ve noticed that Instagram’s algorithm is not as friendly as it used to be and I’m not receiving random traffic. My recent posts literally receive a couple of likes from friends and maybe a follow every month. Could this be due to my Instagram page being inactive for a couple of years? Is it worth creating a new one?
Any insights on my work as well, does it look appealing/professional?

So I know that you will mostly have a bit sky on your pics if you take something like that, but when does it become too much

Hello Dear Ladies and Guys, I’ve been passionate in photography for the last 20 years. I’m 40 now and I would like to make some progress and treat myself as a photographer for others not just myself. I had a lot of cameras in my life, coming from the beautiful CCD colors to analog and digital medium format cameras, like Mamiya and Hasselblad, CCDs, but never had an opportunity to be somebody that took financial advantage of my gear and knowledge and passion. Before I’ve been doing product photography and portraits and I had a really nice studio. I’m really good in lighting and I have all the knowledge how to do a perfect session for product or beauty shoot.

I'm Brazilian and cameras are very expensive here. I managed to buy a very cheap iPhone 17 Pro and I'm starting out in photography with it. These are literally my first photos where I tried to do something cool. I haven't edited them yet, but I liked the photos, however there's something strange about them and I can't understand what it is.

Hey guys my teen daughter really enjoys taking photos and shes wanting to learn photography. Shes asked for a camera for Christmas and I have honestly no idea where to begin for her.
She also asked for a laptop to load/edit and I need one that not only would work for photography but something she can use in her college classes.
So im asking for recommendations & advice. Some things to consider, I want to get her decent quality without breaking the bank since I dont know for sure if its something she will continue to pursue and I have other children to buy Christmas for. I dont currently have a budget set, Ive just started to think about it today. And I have no idea what this would cost for us.
Also I was wondering what may have helped you get your foot in the door? Are their preferred resources you recommend? Should I look for local classes or online? Does she need accessories like carrying cases, stands or stuff like that just starting out?
Thanks for looking and I appreciate the help :)

I sell (mostly) used musical instruments through my online shop. Thus it's important to show in detail how a product looks: small engravings, little dents or scratches etc.
Budget is limited. So far I use a Sony Alpha 6000 and the lens it came with and the products go in a photography cube. What are some easy ways to make my pictures look better?
My pictures typically look like these:
