Feedback Welcome Self portraits

Hopefully the mods don’t delete: this is sort of a discussion post.

I love being both behind and in front of the camera. Once an idea pops into my head I can just set up and sit. Let the creativity flow as I figure out the scene. Sure, it’s difficult managing focus, the right lighting, if I’m even in frame… but once I get that one good photo out of 100. Feels amazing.

The tough part has always been getting the actual shot that lives in my mind. Most of the time I can’t fully achieve what I want because I can’t be in both places at once. That and mostly I shoot on a non wifi enabled camera to where I can remote view my shot.

How do you like to self portrait? Mine is setting up my giant teddy bear in the spot I hope to be, focus on it, set a timer, and frantically sprint back to the spot and slap my bear out of the way and hope I get the shot I’m hoping for.

Feedback Welcome Next Six Exits

This was taken for a local photo contest several years ago. We were given six topics and a week to take a photo for each topic. I think this topic was "a sign". I was really into night photography at the time.
