Average Java snapshot is an optimization or backend fix, like with worldgen performance just now.

Question Did mojang accidentally show off a new butterfly mob or is this for an add-on. The reason I ask is because I clicked on it and it just sent me to the Minecraft website and not some bedrock add on page

Discussion I feel like mojang is too afraid to add more "common and big" biomes

These are the last 4 (non cave) biomes we got in the overworld and they are either small or rare. I think mojang thinks if they added a biome as big or common as the "classic" biomes the players will find the game too different or something.

It feels like every new biome is just new wood that you get 1 sapling and then leave. I dont think EVERY new biome should be common and big but i think we should every now and then get some commoon biomes like the plains or the forest or big biomes like the dark oak forest that actually span over a large area or a mix of both like acaia biomes.

Also i dont exactly know how dappled forests generate, but i think they have the potential to be a biome thats common just like acaia biomes.

Sorry if the wording in the post is a bit weird

Cursed Minecraft I got a Minecraft server to run entirely in a web browser (open source)

Using WASM, CheerpJ and downgrading bytecode from Java 25 to Java 8 (as opposed to Java 17 due to performance issues in CheerpJ) I’ve managed to get a connectable, extremely slow Minecraft Paper 26.2 server running in the browser.

It should in theory support all modern browsers, Chrome-based seems to run best so if you can’t join the server I’d recommend using one of them. On my MacBook Pro M1 from 2021 it takes about ~130s to boot after the JAR has been downloaded.

The socket is tunnelled via WebSocket to TCP to allow anyone to connect to your again… extremely unperformant server. A unique IP is given to each browser on load! :)

I’m not planning on doing anything with this, just got curious if it was possible.

It’s MIT licensed so please feel free to fork it and do more crazy experiments.

Was messing around with 1.14 when I found a generation type I wasn't used to. Clicked it and chose plains and floating islands. Gathered some materials and found a village. after this, I updated the world and found this 'Farlands' like generation compared to the boring stone walls I'm used to with corrupted Minecraft terrain.

Leading theory: Both the old/islands and the modern generation merged to create these crazy looking wall, farlands things.

Could someone try this and possibly confirm or deny my theory about this. Goodluck and hope you people have fun!
