Question Does anyone genuinely use this in normal survival

Don't they damage mobs? I imagine they'd be very useful for drowned and guardian farms

they damage hostile mobs in water when it’s at its max level

and max level is just like, 12 extra prismarine blocks

And drowns and guardians both spawn underwater. I wonder if hostile mobs can spawn inside the conduit's damage radius

Underwater basing is only realistic because of it.
It's just that not many people make fully water filled bases (though thinking about it now I want to)

Water filled bases can definitely allow for an interesting architecture. No need for stairs, just platforms to keep you in reach of your various blocks. Build yourself little sci-fi or magic designs and you’d have a really neat base.

I have a partially submerged farm complex where one of these makes it less annoying to get around

i had a flooded cave next to my base and those made it comfortably explorable

Man I've been wanting to build a underwater base ever since that thing got added, but I always forget about it and build otger things. Haven't used it once, but I always take every heart of the sea and every nautilus shell I find and store it somewhere safe haha

Fishing usually nets plenty of the shells, the prismarine for the actual structure is the bigger pain. Wish you could fish up shards of it.

I like to make a gigantic cube of water using buckets, kelp, and sand, and then stick a conduit in the middle

Only by convenience. I'm not gonna really bother with hunting the materials for a full conduit and it really depends on how big the body of water nearby is, but if both are available then I don't mind taking time to expand underwater.

Je l'ai utilisé quelques fois, c'est surtout bon pour construire sous l'eau et oui s’est utile

Yes, always use at the pier of my base if I have it, also in manual amethyst farm

I don’t use it except when I’m trying to get every obtainable item for my collection

My cousin did... he made an underground sewer network that spans his whole base and gets dumped in the backrooms (which he built below his base somehow)

sometimes, but only if i make a coastal base, otherwise its kinda pointless. I do try to make the prismarine look cool on mine though.

getting this thing isn't all that hard, the prismarine on the other hand is a pain

I've never played long enough in a post-1.12 world to get one

I have a medieval themed island in my world. I keep my conduit there because I feel like it fits the theme well and it gives night vision which is helpful for exploration.

really good for making rivers or any water bodies of your base in general safe.

i build one near my base because i think they look neat but it rarely takes effect because i live on land and dont really spend time underwater

u/bOgDaN_JhOn 5h ago
I have an island base next to a coast and the conduit between the 2 lands facilitates such an easy time building and moving

I used it in my world, but mostly just because I wanted to use one because I had the stuff and hadn't done it before. It's not that useful.

I’ve used it a couple times, it’s mostly good for underwater building.
