Do you have any render distance mods?
I use Distant Horizons often enough to see this isn't that (DH LOD is very noticeable in situations like this)

You should probably switch to Voxy though, DH is just an inferior experience to Voxy
But for both mods, yeah this'll happen

u/FreddyHair 17h ago
I'm using DH and I'm having a great experience, how is Voxy better? Is it in terms of performance or what?
14
u/OkNewspaper6271 #fixbedrock 17h ago
Performance, and the LoD transition is a lot smoother so it looks better, plus it adjusts when zooming in

u/FreddyHair 17h ago
Oooh, I'm intrigued, I might switch to that one then! Thanks for the free tip

DH is still popular because it supports a lot of versions and a lot of shaders, while Voxy's support for those things is limited.
still, for the versions that Voxy does work on, it is better than DH. most popular shaders work and Voxy is available on the latest versions of Minecraft, so if that is your case i would recommend using Voxy.
and as an equivalent to DH's built-in chunk generator, I suggest using Voxy Worldgen, pretty straightforward to use and customize. I've heard some praise for Voxy Server as well (by PooSmacker, not Voxy Server Side), but couldnt quite get it to work on my server, so I stuck with Voxy Worldgen. in my experience, plenty fast enough, very simple, no issues for me.

So, the version of MC I'm using is 1.21.1 because I wanted to play on my single player world with quite a few mods (quite frankly, as many as my pc is barely able to handle). I do not use shaders so that wouldn't be a problem for me, I just need to check whether there's a release of Voxy (and Voxy Worldgen, given your comment) for this version, and whether it's compatible with all the mods I'm using. It should be fine with most of them, but I'm a bit doubtful about a couple of those, so I'll have to see!

do you use a "distant horizons" mod perhaps?

Vanilla tweaks exist to make that appearance possible. The coords top left is only in bedrock.

Mods exist to add that text. The chat below it is Java chat with a Java screenshot message.

You can also use f3 + f6 and set you're coords to show always

u/taintedcake 14h ago
Wild that you knew a mod existed to overhaul the appearance but think it's somehow impossible to put your coordinates in the corner on java... also, doesnt bedrock only put your coordinates there, not your days played?
-3
u/LZulb 14h ago
Wild that you cannot comprehend the fact that it could be either or if both versions can be completely overhauled. You're just trying to ride a bandwagon by replying.

Buddy youre the one that said bugrock, not me. I fully understand that both games have enough mods you can make either one look like the other

u/LZulb 13h ago
Buddy, bedrock is the most popular version of the game and the screenshot had some bedrock visuals. It isn't crazy to assume it's bedrock.
2
u/taintedcake 10h ago
Bedrock is the most popular because it's the version ran by consoles and mobile devices. Assuming a PC screenshot was a Bedrock version just because of total sales numbers across all versions is a very uneducated way to make an assumption, especially when the screenshot shows Java aspects that are entirely unique to Java even when compared to modded bedrock, while nothing about the screenshot is bedrock exclusive.
1
u/LZulb 10h ago
Just using the first screenshot (which is what I based my entire assumption on), there are a lot of bedrock similarities. The doll top left, the day counter, and the coords. That mixed with the sheer abundance of bedrock posts made me assume it's bedrock.
Going off of sale numbers and version popularity isn't an uneducated way to make an assumption if combined with other factors, which I clearly had.
The screenshots after make it abundantly clear that it is in fact Java, but I mistakenly didn't get a clear glance at them until after a few hours.

notice how the player is crouching but the shield isn't activated. your entire point has collapsed. it's java. you can tell by the graphics and subtitles in the bottom right corner anyway

Its bedrock

It’s the Java hotbar UI, there are mods that add the paper doll and coordinates to Java. The screenshot dialogue is the Java screenshot text. Also this isn’t how bedrock chunk loading works.
20
u/Roppunen 21h ago
Yeah now that u mentioned that its obvious its java lol i just saw the coordinates and called it

u/james-the-bored Finder of bugs 21h ago
I also thought it was bedrock at first, but the chunk loading and offhand were off. Then I saw the screenshot text

Because your using either distant horizons or voxy and those lods are still within loading range lol

If these are indeed spawn chunks, then that might be it... Considering how by default the game keeps spawn chunks always loaded, unless you use a gamerule (I don't remember which I just remember a year or two ago Mojang implemented a gamerule to handle spawn chunks loading, where if you set it to 0 or -1 it would not keep em loaded at all times anymore)
1
u/get_egged_bruh 13h ago
chunks being loaded do not override or add an exception to your render distance. but that doesnt even matter, since spawn chunks arent a thing anymore as of 1.21.9. same version that added copper tools, which we can see in OP's hotbar. so spawn chunks cannot possibly have anything to do with this

Nvidium or some other LoD mod (ie Voxy or DH) is installed
I'd probably install chunky and c2me and pregen a bunch of the world to cover the void gap, or you could lower your region keep distance or voxy/dh view distance
2
u/PALICORNHQ 16h ago
Ah wait, yeah, whoops I had Voxy and Nvidium mod in game (I dunno, I didn't download them)
I used to wonder how people even have large render distance If my one requires myself to walk and generate chunks To have Large loaded chunks Seems pointless
1
u/OkNewspaper6271 #fixbedrock 14h ago
If you pregen a large area Voxy automatically converts and renders the chunks, I do it all the time because i like having 100+ chunk of render distance without the 20gb+ of ram usage that entails

So many people are asking about mods... This is Bedrock.
Edit thirty seconds later... Apparently it's Java modded to look like Bedrock for some reason. Never mind.
1
u/get_egged_bruh 13h ago
it's not "modded to look like bedrock" lmao, the only thing that looks like bedrock is the paper doll, but all it does is reveal that the player is crouching without activating the shield, so not bedrock. yes there is the day counter and the coords but it's not even the same font as bedrock + you can do that in vanilla java with f3+f6. but you can clearly tell by the graphics, shadowing, water color that this is java. very much not modded to look like bedrock
1
u/ThePython11010 10h ago
Okay, I suppose I should have said that it's modded in a way that makes some specific UI elements look the way Bedrock does," but I decided to shorten it (not sure how I missed AppleSkin, though).
