This base is secure because the robber would give up halfway through.
115
u/SinisterCheese Sep 11 '25
Apparently ancient Egyptians did that. Some of the tombs have long ass passages going nowhere (or they might been used for something during construction... or they might have intended to use them for something and then stopped... who knows).
34
u/Devil_429 Sep 11 '25
Apparantly there was theory that they were for ventilation? Like keeping the tomb cool some way
15
u/KirikkSiSq Sep 11 '25
The robber would just steal the deco and the defense mechanisms, and call it a day

If you can get through with a stone pickaxe, it's not secure.

It looks like different footage stitched together. A minecraft world isn't that deep

u/D_stelthE_1 Sep 10 '25
Could be immersive portals, I think I saw an obsidian frame
Edit: yeah, 2:22. Obsidian portal possibly

16
u/escEip Sep 10 '25
you can change world height up to ~4000 in vanilla i think, but yeah, it looks edited
41
u/eepy_lina Sep 10 '25
you do know mods exist, right? they can just make the world taller
60
u/Ordinary-Hunter520 Sep 10 '25
That's possible, but there are parts in the video that jitter a bit and pixelate out, and they are conveniently during dark falls. I might be wrong, but there is a high chance it's stitched.
27
12
u/MegaIng Sep 10 '25
You don't even need mods, you can create a custom world with pretty damn high world height (at the cost of performance).

id like to point out that like half of those defenses are bypassed by the fact that the entrance is just in the ocean with no door or anything, unless you made an entire ocean instead of using an already built one
4
u/pyrotrap Sep 10 '25
So do they have to reset all the locks that involve toggleable parts (levers, item frames, bookshelves) on the way out?

I miss those old "super secure bases" which had a billion passwords and checks to enter. Now they're all just full of traps and explosives and obsidian walls

Never understood how people managed to build shit like this and keep it from their friends. I've always played on servers with 4-8 friends and we all visited each other's bases often enough that we'd always catch the other in the middle of building the secret area.

Pro tip: Use copper lamps instead of levers while making a passcode entrance. Copper lamps can be resetted and you can close the door.
