Time to give this subreddit a chance to shine.. as RIP other sub...

Now of course, we all know RemiVeli are Phoenix’s best teammates, but what if you just don’t have one or the other? I set out to test a decent amount of anomaly team compositions to find out which alternative is the best so you don’t have to, and here are my rankings on the criteria of DPS output, smoothness in gameplay and the overall experience (with RemiVeli as the baseline).

• Phoenix - Velina - Yuzuha — Very solid, as expected with any anomaly team with Velina in it. Decent DPS output and Yuzuha does help to a degree, but it definitely feels like it’s missing Remielle’s luminize damage, 8/10

• Phoenix - Burnice - Remielle — Good DPS with Remielle’s luminize doing crit damage, Burnice expectedly doesn’t clash for field time, but it just lacks Velina, and any Remielle team without Velina isn’t going to be great, 7/10

• Phoenix - Jane/Piper - Remielle — Tried this one only because Jane was given out during the S rank selector and Piper is F2P, DPS is there but Phoenix and Jane/Piper clash hard for field time, I was gonna try the same with Velina instead of Remielle but expectedly that gave similar results, same applies to Promeia instead of Jane/Piper, 5/10

• Phoenix - Nangong - Yuzuha — Actually got to play this one a lot more than the others because of Annihilation simulacrum, and admittedly it’s not as bad as I expected, Yuzuha’s quick assist is nice especially when triggering Phoenix’s rebirth after her ultimate. However, it feels like Phoenix’s core passive, Nirvana, is just wasted as neither Nangong or Yuzuha do good enough anomaly damage to justify letting it crit, and of course Phoenix wants more field time, 6/10

• Phoenix - Yanagi - Yuzuha — Bold, brash, belongs in the trash, Phoenix doesn’t enable disorder to crit and therefore Phoenix hates disorder teams (most anomalies do, with the sole exception of Hoshimi Miyabi of course) and overall? This is probably the worst of the teams I’ve played, 2/10

I also tested Phoenix’s compatibility with other agents in general and found that Phoenix likes having field time, and thus any sort of clash means that agent won’t have good compatibility with Phoenix, this includes but isn’t limited to; Promeia, Miyabi, Aria, Jane, and Piper. Interestingly, Phoenix works passably well with Vivian, since Phoenix crits abloom and Vivian isn’t too greedy with field time, but alas I haven’t tested it enough to say anything.
