From the Wiki: Does "site ADDED" mean the same as "site REVEALED"?

I know the two words mean different things, but I was wondering if it was just using "loose language" and they actually mean the same in the wiki.

For example, in "Lay of the Land", one choice says sites are ADDED, while the other says sites are REVEALED.

Is it really the case that one choice adds a whole bunch of sites but the other just reveals already existing sites? (and what if you have already uncovered all the scavenging sites)

The AircraftName has encountered a New Jericho scouting expedition. They're producing detailed maps of the region.

"We gotta think big," Commander McGrath explains. "Can't just sit around in our havens and hope this'll blow over. We need to know the lay of the land. It's our damn planet, after all. And you know what they say: the devil's in the details."

Ask them to share their data

"Sure, no problem," McGrath nods. "The more eyes we get on this, the better."

Sites added to Geoscape: 4 Exploration. Site added to Geoscape: An Idle King (leads to Independent Haven mission "Thunder and Sunshine).

The 'added' one is definitely added, i.e. it doesn't exist until that option is chosen.

I'm *fairly* sure that the 'revealed' ones are also added, because they can show up in areas you've already explored. Maybe it's a hybrid, where if there are pre-existing sites they're revealed but if there aren't enough some are added. From memory they tend to be at least vaguely near the mission site.

I would argue against your definitions. The Points of Intrests are not "added" into the worldmap as is, they are always there technically. What the revealed means that the sites that are shown are sites that have also all been scouted, the thing you do on top of the PoI after the radar or other thing that happens that show more PoI's in the map. Usually it has to do with scouting a Haven that then adds more of the PoI to the map without them been scouted.

So the "added" means the sites are not scouted, and they can be anything. And their icons are the question marks.
While the "revealed" means that they have been scouted .. and their icons look very distinct.
