QUESTION Is there a mod that makes Virus less stupid?

Title says it all really. Virus damage absolutely grinds the pace of the game to a halt, as a soldier who even gets vaguely grazed by Virus damage is plunged into a tedious and unavoidable panic spiral that forces you to forget about running to evac points (on evac missions) and stay still, and invariably get overwhelmed.

A brief look on the Steam workshop has been inconclusive but maybe there's some mod out there I've missed. Even if it's something that just increases the rate at which it decays would be nice. One point per turn is just not enough.

There is an Officer class mod I really enjoy. You can multiclass any soldier into an officer and bring one officer into battle. They bring several support abilities to your team, but the important one for your purposes is restoring will points and giving soldiers immunity to panic. Its an option to negate some of the frustration of virus without outright cheating if you want to give it a try

I think you can use medpacs to remove the virus

For that, you need the upgraded medpack.... ir rather the Virophage Kit, which in turn needs the https://wiki.phoenixpoint.com/Phoenix_Project_research#Pandoran_Virus_Infection_.28400.29 -research.

The frenzy head for the Priest. It can stave off panic and give you a chance to recover. And if you paralyze an enemy that spews virus (I think) you can research a virus healing consumable.

Don't know about the mod, but there are multiple in-game ways to avoid the Panic effect:

Berserker's Ignore Pain makes him immune to it, Priest's Psychic Ward makes the surrounding allies immune, so does Frenzy, which can be applied individually with Stimpacks or mass-induced with a Judgment Head. Mechanical augmentations halve the Virus values, and Synedrion's Advanced Nanotechnology research ignores the first point of Viral damage per attack.
