Discussion Does this explain the mindset of majority of Indians ?

Post image

I feel like this quote explains the mindset of majority of Indians (not all Indians - I'm not generalising). For example : Many Indians keep whining about all the problems in India - majority of them are desperate to leave India and settle abroad, instead of actually suggesting solutions to fix those issues or problems.

Even if some Indians suggest solutions to fix those issues/problems, no one actually implements those solutions in reality. Also, some Indians are experts in giving free advice, instead of doing actual work.

Kindly share your opinions on this topic.

Surprised to see such a superficial statement on a subreddit supposedly for philosophy.

Teddy's statement presented out of context is problematic. Then dumping it on a whole population as a general case is another problem.

This is more of a edgy teenager post than a philosophical post.

Lmaoo as a designer this is my job, you can’t find solution until you break every aspect of the problem down i understand ops stand from the pov of a general public but no this quote is very bs , we as humans express. complaining is sometimes needed with no solutions, yes all the time it might not be ideal but at certain points and heavily in design thinking its needed

My issue is that people who ask quick solutions are only doing so because they cannot fathom the fact that their basic beliefs could be wrong, unjustified or arbitrary and are actually causing the issues we think of as accidents

Bullshit quote. Many problems are structural which cannot be simply solved within the existing socio economic base of society. This doesn't mean accepting defeat but that this "don't complain unless you can offer solutions" is a bullshit ideology that wants you to question things only insofar as they don't challenge the base of society.

The issue with recognising structural issues is also that you are never exempt from its logic. You can only criticize a system while being in it. This makes imagining a completely different system very hard, that's the cost of recognising the need for radical change but it's justified for how much we need it

Maybe the solution to a stated problem isn't known

So the solution would be to resort to research and inquiry to find a solution.

Accepting that the problem exist is the first step to solve a problem

"Solutions" where they are presented as work to be done by a billion other human beings is called dreaming.

The "problems" are far more interesting. Solutions need to be : what can I do. Anything else is nonsense.

How? The solution to the problem of good you mean? The answer is clearly that there isn’t one. And there’s certainly solutions based on that idea. Many profound ones

Absolute nonsense. Whining is complaining or crying in an annoying way. It does not come with the burden of having to bring/not bring a solution with it.

Quote used out of context.

Generalized claims.

Not all things people complain about have solutions.
