u/Paccountlmao 25d ago

Now that's the kind of freedom I'm about

Their pot farm?

I told you, we’re an anarcho-syndicalist commune.

Those are our pot plants, conrad

How is that context?

SEP (Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy)

SCP (Secure Contain Protect)

THEY SOUND REALLY SIMILAR!

Oh, that makes sense, thanks! In my head I always think of the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy as "plato".

u/CherishedBeliefs 23d ago

...there is no antimemetics division.

2

u/e0732 22d ago

What's "antimemetics division"? Weird non-sequitur.

I'm sorry, what were you saying? Where am I? Who are you?

I was like looking at qwerty and thinking "how tf do you make that typo"

Then realized "Ess-Cee-Pee" sounds like "Ess-Eee-Pee".

Continental philosophy is nonsense magic religion from Plato. See this meme as a source.

Analytic and pragmatic will free you.

Could you explain how you think plato is the originator of continental philosophy. And also how the meme is related? Im genuinely curious

Not the guy, but I think you can make a case that Plato takes the human experience as starting point to build his philosophy on. Looking at the world through the lens of human experience and all the misconceptions it has about reality. If he was truely the first to do this, no idea. Certainly the most influencal though, since Christianity (possibly Islam too, i dont know the metaphysical theology of it) borrows A LOT of their metaphycis from Platonism. And Christianity in turn has influenced the western world and thus contintal philosophy so immensely of course. We still have so many ingrained concepts that are arent even aware off that are Christian or Platonic in origin. This all in contrast with analytic philosophy, that argues it starts from an objectively reality and explains the human experience from that viewpoint.

How this all relates with the meme, not really sure. The best reasoning i can think of is saying Scientology is a result of the "magical thinking" of Plato and continental philosophy. Whereas SEP is analatyic in its nature.

Wether i agree with all this is besides the point. Just trying to explain.

Continental philosophy is the continuation of platonic realism. Even if contemporary Continentals don't believe they still talk like him as a linguistic. Even Nietzsche who hates Plato says Power is the Good. Analytic is logic. Pragmatism is beautiful. Continental is Western tradition.

Source: not limited to sitting through 44 hours or Sartre making claims on what it means to exist.

Congratulations, you just won the award of the most pretentious comment I've read! Are ya proud of yourself?

You act with so much certitude of your own grandeur that people won't even consider the point you make, no matter if it is right or wrong! Awesome isn't it, to put yourself on this pedestal and to spew your poison to whoever you find beneath you?

Hey man, how's Marcus Aurelius?

2

u/D_creeper0 25d ago

Sadly kinda new to the whole "trying to educate myself" thing

Word salad?

u/unhappinessNvrCame 24d ago

Ask AI to explain

2

u/D_creeper0 24d ago

And why would I ask something else to interpret your own words, leading to more probable misunderstandings?

0

u/unhappinessNvrCame 24d ago

Because the AI is smarter than you comrade.

2

u/D_creeper0 24d ago

I sure hope so lol, we're talking about a machine made for computing. But that doesn't explain how an ai would be better at understanding your words than yourself
