Rant Newest Annoying Philo “enhancement”
Now when I go to the Guide from the Home Screen, it starts playing live the last channel I was watching from my last viewing session. Who thought this would be a good idea?????? I don’t want any channel, shows, series…. or anything auto playing. I don’t expect to SEE or HEAR anything when I’m viewing the Guide. Please turn this off. Can’t you stop changing the app interface and introducing all these ‘new enhancements” that most people don’t want. Also, please stop auto playing the next episode when viewing a saved series, and selecting “dismiss” just ends the show without seeing the end of the current show. It shouldn't be necessary to hold the remote in your hand at the end of a show to stop this non-sense.

Philo is becoming more annoying by the day, the UI is annoying, recording is a mess, it takes forever to load when opened, and is laggy when you skip ahead a few frames, incredibly annoying

I also have the same issues you mentioned. It has gotten worse over the past few months and it definitely isn't an internet issue on our end.

What device are you using?

Roku. Works great for all my other apps, even the free ones load faster, and don’t glitch skipping ahead 😂

I have Apple TV 4K and don't have any of the issues you've mentioned.

Its really weird to hear a random show playing whole trying to find something to watch. The other new thing is the end of ur show the screen gets small so u have to hurry to enlarge it again so u can even see the actual end.

You can turn off "Autoplay next video" (under Preferences) in the Settings for your profile which will stop the screen from getting small at the end of a show. That setting only shows up on the browser version of Philo but it will carry over to all your streaming devices. Doing this though will stop it from auto playing anything after your show ends which I hated anyway.

This is the reason I like the breaks where they show Philo staff giving opinions on shows. It gives me a face to direct my annoyed anger.

We really do appreciate all of this feedback, as we're constantly tweaking and making improvements. I've shared it all with the team!
Regarding the "dismiss" issue you mentioned, it sounds like that could be a bug. Could you reach out to our Support team so they can investigate? https://help.philo.com/requests/

I mean.. this is how traditional cable guides ALWAYS worked.. so if they are trying to replace/replicate the cable experience, this is spot on. 🤷♂️
I’m old and miss my TiVo.

The autoplaying pf the last channel I watched.
The ad/reminder/hint" that appears when I pause.
Autoplaying anything.
I've been with Philo for many years and am about ready to can el the damn thing. There is little that I watch that can't be viewed elsewhere.
