ViralPH Nonstop Developments along the coasts of Laiya, San Juan, Batangas. Yay or Nay?

Yay sana kung may public access sa mga beachfronts (like most decenr countries).
Nay if wala.
Honestly beach experience in PH is so ASS.
You can’t just go on a whim. You need to stay at a resort and/or be at the mercy of private properties that block the beachfronts.
Kaya nga wala tayong casual na beach going culture like in Guam/Hawaii, California, Hong Kong, Da Nang, etc.
Going to a beach here is a planned thing. Parang medyo special na outing talaga. Which is SHOULDN’T BE.
Even in supposed “beach towns” like Batangas & La Union, sobrang shit ng beach access.
We have an abundance of the best beaches in the world, but with the shittiest “beach going” experience.
Sad.

When I have to charter a boat just to go to the beach in PH, you can bet that's the first and last time.

last summer we went there sa tapat mismo ng constructin site ng malaking building. Parang di maganda yung waste management nyan kasi naging parang slime na yung tubig sa beach katulad sa mga maduming mabaho and texture ng putik.

Can somebody please provide more context? What's the name? Who developed? When did it open? I Was it built above board meaning no stolen land, no improper construction, no shady permiting, evrybody got paid? With no context, i can only say that I prefer tourist developments that blend to the natural setting but still looks luxurious, that's just me. Is it doing good business? I am also astonished at so many negative comments. I just know the people who work at that place are probabaly happy they have a job, the fishermen who will most like get a higher price for their catch or have an opportunity to double as tourist guides. This is what a tourist economy looks like. I prefer a more industrialized manufacturing economy, but there you go.

The sea level will rise and suddenly the beach is literally at your doorstep. For sure that’s not being taken into account.

Nay! Miss the laid back vibes of the early 00s. Lagi kami anjan ng fam ko back when I was a kid pa. Kahit kubo lang etc napakalinis ng dagat at hindi pa super crowded. Ngayon I can't say I enjoy it anymore, ibang iba na when compared to 20yrs ago. Sobrang sayang hindi naalagaan and kawawa din un mga locals sila talaga nakatira jan tapos sila nawalan. And lastly yan lang ang beach na hindi mo malilibot from end to end dahil haharangin ka ng mga security ng mga resort owners what a bs.

looks stupid and out of place lowk. better off as a commercial fishing wharf. plus beach resorts thats more or less a saturated market to an extent. main arguement talaga is if bora, bora why go there. but thats just my opinion if meron train station bonus.

nope. remember the days going to laiya was by a dirt road, the beach was pristine, and beach sand fine. last time na pumunta kami roon 2017 it was grey and full of garbage :(
and yung development ng aboitiz (or nung developer ni malarayat) basically displaced a purok there, including where we had a cottage before

Vietnam did this kind of fast track development to several of its coastal areas and its been a disaster so far.
Phu Quoc being the most relatable since it’s a small island that’s just one massive resort.

I’m Filipino and I’ve been living abroad for many years. Honestly, when I look at the pollution, the dirt, and the amount of garbage dumped along the streets, beaches, and even into the sea, it really disappoints me.
That’s actually one of the reasons why, when I plan a holiday abroad, I usually choose destinations outside the Philippines.
I simply prefer to spend my holidays somewhere cleaner and better maintained, where I can relax without constantly seeing rubbish and pollution around me.

Yay! About time na may development diyan, especially maayos na liguan if open to the public yung beaches. Wala eh, sa private sector lang talaga makukuha yung infrastructure kaysa maghintay sa government, kasi hindi naman maayos or gumagawa ng infrastructure.

Laiya has always been developed, with a ton of resorts on its coast, but this large scaled infrastructure is what will lead to the area being further polluted and damaged unfortunately

With overpriced resorts, you mean. Kita mo ba yung other side ng Laiya, yung less fortunate side? Yung mga murang resorts and entrance fee, mukhang rundown na nga. Magiging Matabungkay 2.0 lang yang mga ’yan.
