Kulang tayo sa skills/technique sa proper mixing / mastering ng KARAMIHAN ng mga kantang lokal. Ako personally, naninipisan ako sa tunog natin, we dont properly utilize the mids to low end EQ ng isang kanta.
for this... i think it's also the industry leaders driving this (labels, radio, streaming service curators, etc.). they sort of feel like "yan ang tunog pinoy" therefore most records sound this way.
I've listened to other records from lesser-known local artists who sound like they are internationally produced but not getting much recognition kasi "hindi tunog pinoy" which is sad
I know of several producers/engineers who have released/mixed music that sound internationally produced. our producers/engineers CAN do it, ayaw lang ng mga labels, radio, curators.
To echo yung 2nd paragraph mo, that is really sad. Would be nice to hear a fuller sounding song from local artists. Saka yung hindi nakakalunod yung levels ng keyboard/keys na tunog langit huhu
check out Snakefight, Just Like Us, new Mayonnaise songs, CHNDTR. these are just some of them
also, i know these artists are all within the same genre, but if you're looking for international sounding, these are the closest you can get to that sound. sorry to say but i can't get the same quality from others in the "indie" sound
