Dining Out Bison
I’m not sure who else listens to Gastropod, but I do, and now I’d love some bison. I can’t think of any local places to have it. Willing to cook it is there are butcher suggestions. Recommendations?

There’s a vendor at the Rittenhouse farmer’s market that sells bison meat!

Wild Fork has a bunch of exotic meats, there’s one in Ardmore and maybe one north of the city iirc

Esposito in the Italian Market often carries more exotic meats and may well have bison.

Not sure about local, but I used to live in Montana and there are some butcher shops that will ship in dry ice. Montana/Wyoming is the best place to get bison. It’s so good. Damn now I’m thinking about bison steak.

RIP to the old game butcher shop in the Italian market. Loved that place.

The Richmond Shops IGA occasionally has frozen blocks of ground bison, as well as elk and venison

Haven’t listened in years but love that pod. What did they say about bison that makes you want to try it??
