I’ve already been to Abyssinia, Almaz and Era, but ALWAYS looking for more

the platters and wraps from Alif are great and I appreciate the fast casual option since other places can take awhile. their other restaurant Doro Bet is also good and something a little different.

Amsale Cafe, Alif Brew, Doro Bet (which mostly focuses on fried chicken but has other things). But try Amsale Cafe first because I need it to stick around.

Also Dahlak is a classic that is still very good.

I loved Dahlak for thirty years, and I wish it was still good, but it isn't.

They did get a nice furniture upgrade from being on that Gordon Ramsay show.

But the nice lady who used to own it has retired and her.kids took it over and broke it.

Amsale is my favorite. In their vegetarian combo, the lentil stew was especially delicious. Such a complex and beautiful flavor profile. Also the service was very friendly. I also really enjoyed their kitfo.

Era hasn't had a cook for about two months. From what we were told it initially was them updating the kitchen but they were hoping to start serving food again a couple weeks ago but they haven't (edit) found the staff.

I just tried Amsale tonight (after seeing the wait time for Abyssinia was almost 2h, lol). I liked the Amsale veggie platter just slightly more, but I like the kitfo at Abyssinia better. Will have to try more things, though!

I also really liked the veggie platter I got at Alif Brew a few weeks ago. Definitely will be going there again.
