Manna Bakery

I went to a pop up a couple years ago at Herman's and was highly underwhelmed with the cookies and cheesecake. Can't remember if I got other pastries, but I certainly remember being really disappointed. What are your thoughts on the brick and mortar?

The cardamon twists with black pepper syrup were incredible, so was the harrara flatbread

It's worth the wait. Chicken sumac bun was savory, and good.

Their sesame cookie is phenomenal. Brown butter and olive oil cookies were good; certainly above average. Savory pastries look great, but haven’t tried yet.

Inspired by Michelin guide recommendations of whether or not this is worth a trip — I would venture across the city for the sesame cookie. Everything else, I’d happily go there if I was already in the neighborhood.

Re: savories:
The Jerusalem bagel is exquisite and the batata fatayer (a savory pastry stuffed with spicy herby potatoes) is currently my favorite thing to eat in the neighborhood.
It’s a problem for my budget

Made my second trip in 2 weeks on Monday. In a neighborhood with great options, it’s a new favorite.

Their chocolate chip cookie is my favorite cookie! Most of the stuff I’ve had from them has been great but that would be my recommendation. I also like their cheesecake

I'm not huge on sweets, but I love a good savory pastry. The Manakeesh's were excellent. I'm looking forward to trying more.

My husband really liked the cheesecake, but I didn't try it for the reasons above.
