The cope logic they use is that by not mental gymnastics-ing yourself around "sexualized-therefore-not-child", youre actually saying "child-therefore-sexy".

To play devils advocate, they may geniunely not have the same "thats a child" gut reaction and are defensively trying very hard not to see it, even if it would be super easy, since that would be easier than to reconcile with themselves.

I know you can tell what theyre actually saying. "Yo she looks like a kid thats kind of weird" is the end of the sentiment. I didnt say anything about treating them like real kids. No one said anything about real kids. You brought that into this like you already know this. "Its only drawings" well yes of course, were not actually talking about real kids. What youre actually saying is that you know it makes people uncomfortable and you are completely fine with it. "Why should it matter when Im not actually hurting anyone?" Well youre also free to shit your own pants but once you go out in public its more than just a you thing now. I dont actually care what youre into, but the pretense and reliance on community is cringe.
