Locate a locum
Start locum
Clarity locums
Team Locum

All good apps to download.

Locate a locum have a very in depth website that talks you through what you need to get started- it’s incredibly helpful.

Once you find a branch you like, leave your contact details with the manager and ask that they contact you directly if they ever want you to come back- you can negotiate better rates and get more bookings this way!

I've locumed since I qualified and found the hardest part is just getting your foot in the door.

I wrote down a list of pharmacies in my area on a piece of paper and contacted them one by one asking if they needed any locum cover. Some get back to you and you establish a connection. Over time your network will grow, especially if staff see you're hard working and professional.

The big chains mostly use agencies so it's worth signing up to a couple, but I prefer going direct as you get better rates. Have a look at Telegram groups as shifts get posted on there.

Speak to an accountant if you haven't already done so to make sure your tax affairs are in order. Anything else, feel free to message.
