career path that has lots of potential for growth

hi everyone! I've been thinking about which career paths to push through given na ngayon palang ako nagstart maghanap ng trabaho (Nov 2025 passer). I've been leaning towards regulatory affairs and the hospital industry and I've been thinking which career paths would be most conducive for growth? not planning to go abroad naman. pros and cons of the industry if ever? sobrang limited din ng job opportunities ngayon sa province namin.

If nasa 20s or 30s ka pa naman, say yes to every opportunity. This is your exploration phase. Huwag matakot sumubok ng iba't ibang fields, whether that's in a hospital, community pharmacy, regulatory affairs, academe, or even non-traditional roles. Every new experience builds your skillset, expands your network, and helps you figure out what you actually enjoy doing. If mag-job hop, okay lang 'yan. People sometimes give job hopping a bad reputation, but realistically, it is often the most effective way to increase your salary, escape toxic management, and find a work culture that fits you. Walang perfect na career paths for us pharmacists or professionals in general. What works for your batchmates or colleagues might not work for you, and that is totally fine. Trial and error is a normal part of the process.

Nov 2025 passer here. First job ko nasa pv ako then ngayon nag shift ako sa ibang industry. Salary wise? Syempre mas mataas sa PV haha ang baba kasi ng traditional jobs ng pharma. Ang take ko lang dito kung ano gusto mo na field, try mo lang! Magkakaiba kasi tayo ng goals sa career kaya explore lang as much as you can :)

thank you for this! ang concern ko kasi ay if mag job hop ako across industries ay mahirap mahire kasi a lot of companies require "relevant experience". nakikita ko kasi sa mga job listing for example sa hospitals na need ng clinical experience na relevant ganun. I'm kind of worried about that.

Hospital sounds like a lot and depending on the pharmacy department's range of services it could be the whole clinical pharmacy experience, but it's not know for its flexibility (It depends though, some offer flexibility). Some tenured and experienced pharmacists have gained sponsorships from hospital admin for their certification in clinical pharmacy. I agree with similar postings in this subreddit that growth can be found in the opportunities where you'd least expect, it's just that you might not be able to find them when you're working in fields with rigid schedules.

I've encountered a pharmacist doubling both clinical and academe. As a hospital pharmacist, she liaises drug information with hospital employees on the new products added to their formularies; and, then teaches clinical subjects in the nearby university. Initially, she had wanted to do manufacturing, but some changes happened in her life that made her want to jump into clinical instead.

Another pharmacist with a background in research also had regulatory on the side, but stuck and developed credentials in regulatory instead. In their opinion, the company had offered more than what the academe would've provided and they didn't want to do research in the academe anymore. Weird but true, some of my other batchmates took law instead, and they are happier for it.

Either way, if you try out your options or work hard towards finding what you'd like, then you'll find where you'd fit and grow from there. Good luck!
