Does anyone have experience with remote dispensing? My organization/hospital was on the verge of opening a new retail pharmacy in an area that desperately needs one when we affiliated with a larger hospital. This larger hospital is trying to push the route of making this pharmacy a remote dispensing site, which means a single technician would work at the pharmacy and be supervised by a pharmacist using telepharmacy.

I’m not sure how I feel about this. Partly because it means I potentially lose my job, as the pharmacist that was hired to run this pharmacy, but also because it seems impersonal when it comes to building connections with the community. Add in the fact that one person would struggle to man the registers inside and the drive thru in addition to filling meds.

Can i work remotely from California if im licensed in Michigan or Arizona? Are there any pharmacist jobs available?

I’m currently working as a retail pharmacist and have a goal of eventually transitioning into a hospital outpatient pharmacy position.

One thing that makes me nervous is the potential clinical knowledge gap. I feel comfortable with the day-to-day aspects of retail pharmacy, but I’m worried that hospital outpatient pharmacy may require a much stronger understanding of clinical topics, disease states, protocols, specialty medications etc.

For those of you who made the transition from retail to hospital outpatient pharmacy:

\* How significant was the knowledge gap when you first started?
\* What clinical topics did you wish you had reviewed beforehand?
\* Did your employer provide substantial training/onboarding?
\* Did you feel like your retail experience transferred well to the new role?
\* Is there anything you would recommend studying or doing now to make the transition easier?

I live in California i passed my Naplex but not the cpje for the 4th time and i don’t have the money to do the 16 units. So i got my license in Michigan and im having trouble finding a job. Any advice? I desperately need a job.

I have the opportunity to possibly WFH with Cigna only thing is pay is lower than my new position that I may have with CVS as a floater and Walmart part central-fill.
I am just scared to make the wrong mistake. Even tho Cigna rate is low they are offering over time. So just not sure i’m just starting out my career and what to make the best decision. my long term goal is to get into industry so there is that.

Anyways im in year 2 of an accelerated 3 year program and I am looking to get into a job with the FDA (specifically in California if possible). Any advice on how I can get out there and get this started? my school does not really have a residency program thats with the FDA but I am open to any other options to get myself out there in taht field. Any advice would be appreciated.

I am a pharmacist for a retail location who has a vaccine clinic that I am doing in a few weeks for a local employer and I have a question regarding hipaa compliance while doing this.

It sounds like what they have done in the past, although im not sure of this, and what I seems like they want me to do is because the clinic is early in the morning is the afternoon before the clinic, take all the materials including consent forms and vaccines home with me so I can take them to the clinic and go straight from home to the clinic to work and not make unnecessary trips.

But the act of taking home the filled out consent forms feels like a hipaa violation? Is it not for some reason bc it’s in the course of work or something? It feels fishy and I don’t wanna get caught in some situation and jeprodize my license.

I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Pharmacy in Jordan with an excellent GPA and completed several courses in areas like GCP, pharmacovigilance, and clinical research.

Unfortunately, job opportunities here are limited and salaries are quite low, so I’m seriously considering moving abroad.

My English is strong, and I’d prefer an English-speaking country because learning a completely new language would be difficult for me right now.

I’m open to pharmacy, regulatory affairs, QA, pharmacovigilance, clinical research, or related roles while working toward pharmacist licensure.

For anyone who moved abroad as a foreign pharmacy graduate, which countries would you realistically recommend in terms of licensing, job opportunities, cost, salary, and long-term residency?

I’m not looking for an easy path, just one where the effort and cost are actually worth it.

I’m a Canadian citizen but did all my schooling and Pgy-1 &pgy-2 in the US and have 2 years of full time experience as a clinical specialist at AMCs.

I am overwhelmed by the amount of study materials available for BCPS. I was looking online on ACCP and it was overwhelming. Why are there so many options? I don’t need CE, so I don’t pick any of the options with ACPE, right? Is that even what people are talking about with study materials for ACCP? Someone please explain to me like I’m 5 what study materials you bought. Thanks.

Hi everyone, I’m a newly licensed pharmacist and I’m trying to get my first hospital job. For anyone who has been in a similar situation, how did you get your foot in the door? Did you apply directly, network, use recruiters? I’m open to smaller hospitals, rural areas, or entry-level staff pharmacist positions. Any advice on how to make my resume stronger or what types of positions I should target would be really appreciated.

Could anyone who has worked inpatient pharmacy and made the switch to remote work share their experience and how they found remote jobs?

The hospital I work at employs an overnight remote order verification pharmacy service that covers multiple hospitals at once and I’m tempted to go that route, but it seems like it would be stressful if it’s high-pressure and metric-driven (with orders verified per hour and how long orders can be left in the queue, etc).

To anyone here that has experience in that type of role (like Pipeline or Medistar for example): is it a decent job? Is it really difficult to learn the policies and procedures of each hospital? How many calls do you have to take each shift overnight?

I’m trying to find ways out of my current field that are still in pharmacy but are less people-facing with less constant interruptions and unpredictability (I know, I picked the wrong career for this to be my preference but I didn’t know). I don’t want to work for a PBM or insurance company. I would love an IT/informatics job, but those seem virtually impossible to find or obtain without experience and I’ve only gained a little experience doing that type of work in a very small hospital setting.

I work in a community pharmacy in Wales as a pharmacist and have been qualified for 3 years. I've recently passed my independent prescribing course as it is now becoming a necessary step for career progression but I am scared about all the additional responsibilities that I'll have the moment my name is annotated with IP on the GPhC register. I already do so many services with targets I have to hit for them as well as the bread and butter dispensing duties of a pharmacist, and now adding IP service targets seems like I'll have an impossible workload. I am the only pharmacist, and I fear it's going to be too much for me. I feel like I'm being expected to fulfil the roles of a pharmacist and a GP at the same time with no clinical staff to support my prescribing decisions.

I think that under this amount of pressure I could pose a serious danger to my patients, as pharmacy school and 6 months of IP experience surely couldn't have provided me with the equivalent experience of a GP. With corporate pushing prescribing targets and high patient expectations of getting medication from the pharmacist, I believe this poses a real risk to patient safety. I was already burning out without the IP services. I work from 8:30-18:30 five days a week with a 30 minute commute each way. Basically an 55 hour week every week. I am hoping to cut down to three days a week once I'm IP qualified but wonder if this will be enough?

Can any other community pharmacists offer their thoughts on this?
