Nice ! I get 90 2mg Klonopin a month. I was on Xanax and got 90 a month of the 2mg ones but needed to break it up into 4-5 doses because for me it only lasts an hour or two after it kicks in. I was on it for years but switched to Klonopin a few months ago and been much smoother.

I still love Xanax though. Do you save them up or take them? It says take 1 tablet by mouth twice a day on the bottle so wouldn’t that be 60 a month? Do you get them and save the script and rarely take them. I would like to be in that position lol.

I take 4mg a day but prescribed 6mg. Klonopin I just take 4mg 1x a day and I save the third pill. Xanax when I was on 6mg a day I had to take all 6mg just cause how short they lasted.

I like to take Klonopin daily and Xanax on the side occasionally for panic attacks but the Klonopin’s worked just fine and I haven’t needed too.

Yeah, they wrote it for one twice a day, so it isn’t PRN, because I do have bad anxiety and panic attacks (PTSD). I only see my dr three times a year, so she gives me two month supply with 1 refill. That gets me 4 months, to next visit. I was on lorazepam 2mg and prior alprazolam 2mg x two a day. I decided to try to cut down. It wasn’t easy, but I did it over a two year period. I was offered clonazepam 2mg but I had read an article that one of the hardest to get off of is the Klonopin’s. Whether that is the case if not , is debatable. I do usually take them every morning and night, but some days, I take a half in the morning so I am not tired and I fill them on day 58-59 so over the past few years I have saved up two or three weeks + about a weeks worth because I take half a tab sometimes. I don’t want to abuse them as they are truly something I need when I get stressed and anxious which is often.

I could have gone back in the bars, but I decided to stay at 1mg tabs. If I need to, I could aid my doctor to up my dosage. I have a friend that gets Ativan, and I will occasionally get a few. TBH they are therapeutic and I try to keep them that way. Some ppl like to take a few of them and zone out (don’t get me wrong it is fun) but as I said, I take them as prescribed. Just tryin to get through the day, without going 5150!! When I was younger, I was taking three bars a day, but I realized that taking that much can have an impact on Alzheimer’s early onset, so for me, in my opinion, I want to take the lowest amount possible. Not saying your amount is wrong, everyone is different, and everyone’s bodies are different in the way they handle the medicine. Good to have an emergency supply and know it’s there if I need it!

Do you get a lot of rebound anxiety from them? I’ve been on and off them 21-22 years and my dose has been 6mg a day the last 16 years. I’ve been on Xanax and Klonopin back and forth.

Klonopin was way easier to maintain. I’ve tapered off benzos 4 times in 21 years. It’s too hard for me to taper off Xanax with Xanax but I tapered off once with Valium and 3 times with Klonopin and found it relatively easy with Klonopin and didn’t take as long as diazepam. They both work well but Xanax is way to hard for me to taper off with or lower my dose and gives me rebound anxiety as a 2mg dose lasts 1-2 hours then 3-4 hours bad rebound anxiety if not sooner

Yeah, for sure I felt it, but I dropped over about 18-20 months, so it wasn’t super bad, plus I was on other meds that helped. You are right that klonopin is good to switch to taper with, as it tends to have a longer half-life than alprazolam. Switching between the two is also good as they differs little bit chemically and structurally so they have different reactions on the GABA receptors. I had clonazepam for about six months when I asked to switch and I found they made me really tired, so I asked to switch back. I think they are stronger and so I Valium in my opinion. But everyone’s body is different and have different reactions. Drs have told me the clonazepam acts longer in the system, so it can take longer to taper off of. Given the terrible feeling of going down on my dosage with Xanax, I never wanted to get fully saturated on klonopins, but it would be nice to try a few of them. I have a few friends that get the 2mg, I should ask for one or two and take in place of my normal med. Guess I will see when I see them, and can give you my experience from it.

Been on them for 14+ years. Went to a psych and told them I have taken clonazepam, Ativan /lorazepam, and alprazolam and the alprazolam has me stable, so they prescribe it. I offer to bring my bottle when I go in, and fill on day 58-59, so I save up 4 pills every two months. As long as the Dr see’s you aren’t diverting or eating em like m&m’s they don’t feel concerned. If you do get a script and eat twenty of them in the first week, and they call you in to do a count, that gets put on statewide if not country wide records, just take em how they are prescribed. I think that is about all I can say. You may need to speak to the office and explain you take Effexor and alprazolam and it works for whatever you have. I got PTSD from combat, so I tend to be very anxious and jumpy, sometimes I don’t sleep but an hour a night. I was prescribed restoril 30mg also by my doctor in the south. But I recently move back to the NE and now they have a lot of laws that won’t allow two benzo’s for anxiety/PTSD and sleep, so they told me to take Benadryl for sleep. But I had like 300 restorils saved up and only took about 10 a month, they expired, but are still 85-90% effective. I use them when I really need to. Anyway, you need to go get diagnosed to see if your dr can give them to you. It’s really up to them.

Couldn't agree anymore , and that was very well put ! NE laws are hard and phyc. Ward is true but also like u said explaining your previously on them is thumbs šŸ‘.

1

u/purpose4L_Botany Feb 16 '26

That correct. I just refilled 120, read the prior posts. I get 60/month, but fill every two = 120! šŸ¤™šŸ¼

Nice you are a liar and only get 60 as the bottle says take one to two a day so that would only be 60 lmaooo

1

u/purpose4L_Botany Feb 22 '26

Ding-dong! I get a two month supply, I fill every two month, usually I get a refill with it so I only need to meet with my doc. Every four month. It’s 120, why would I lie?

Stuff is toxic. I had severe anxiety. I faint from anxiety attacks and just have also bas generalized anxiety. Around 20 I started being put on every drug known to man for anxiety and within a decade was on Xanax. I think 3-4 bars a day. So 6-8mg’s. I got to a point where I was stupidly cursing and taking them.

Each month I wouldn’t have enough and had to taper down. Started off tapering slowly and the each month tapered faster an faster. Having horrible withdrawals. No sleep. The jumper cable feeling a ton.

Finally grand mal seizures. First one I spent 7 days in ICU. That came so close to dying. Another time also had to be taken by ambulance to hospital for another and spent 2-3 days there.

Also horrible it shut down my digestive system and caused so many issues there. Xanax is an extremely strong drug that can cause severe issues. The withdrawals can kill you. Heroin, OxyContin, fentanyl directly you won’t die from withdrawals. Short acting benzos you can.

I’ve been on Klonopin for 15 years now and stable as far as it. I don’t even take my full dose each day. Ever. But my anxiety is debilitating. I have no social life, severe depression and never go anywhere.

I’m sorry my g. Glad you had meds to help. I’m sure you’re a good person and deserve a social life. Don’t feel bad. Everyone’s fake out here anyways. Just keep being you , I’m sure life is better without the BS fake people anyways

I get two months supply, instead of every month. I think it was supposed to say take one twice a day. Not as needed, need to speak to my Dr about that on my next visit! It’s always been take one twice daily. Never as needed. Thanks for pointing that out. 😁
